The room was a decent size, with a comfortable bed. The pub/restaurant next door is OK too.
On the banks of the loch in the grounds of the idyllic Strathclyde Country Park, Alona Hotel has a laidback atmosphere and a lovely restaurant.

Located in an oasis of green and yet close to the motorway. Train station at Bellshill was close by and one can "park and ride" from there to Glasgow Central with trains running about every 20mins. Breakfast was more than ample.
Located 300 yards from Strathclyde Country Park and 15 minutes’ drive to Glasgow city centre, Toby Carvery Strathclyde, M74 J6 by Innkeeper's Collection features free private parking and a carvery pub...

Beds were comfortable & towels fluffy the shower was great & toiletries & soap were lovely too! The room was large and the TV was a great size. Tea & coffee was plenty and staff friendly and we asked for more milk in our room and staff were helpful and very accommodating. We had dinner in the evening in the restaurant and we were offered a table for 2 but we asked for a bigger table and told no problem and we were given a choice of 2 bigger tables and liked that we had a choice.

My mum was born in Carfin, and we visited relatives there quite frequently - mostly passed on now. My wife and I were on our way to a holiday in the highlands so we decided to break our journey in Motherwell.
I was last there about fifty years ago, so everywhere was very different! Was nice being back...

Staff were doing a job, sometimes reluctantly i found. I know the problem with recruiting staff at the moment and retaining them but really someone should be overseeing their interaction with the public, nevr mind initial training.

It was a one night stop off to break a long journey. TBH it was about what I expected for the money paid. The plus was the resturaunt the food was suprisingly good & saved having to hunt around for something to eat in an unknown area in a wet night. As a budget stay, pretty good.

Lovely hotel for a stop over, we traveled from Wigan and arrived at hotel late so night porter booked s in, they were expecting us so book in was fast and easy just what you want after a long trip. room was lovely and comfortable only tiny little negative could have had done with more milk for night/morning brew.
The location is super handy, situated close to the M74. Ideally for people traveling into Glasgow or surrounding areas. There’s a gorgeous Loch behind the hotel which is handy if you fancy a walk or a run. The room was extremely clean and decorated to a high standard. The Toby Carvery was amazing as well so you don’t really need to leave the site once you’re there if you’re only staying overnight for work like I was. Will 100% be staying again next time I’m in Scotland - really pleased I came across this place.
Excellent stay made even better by really friendly staff who went out of their way to accommodate our larger group whilst also taking time to chat with us. Staff gave the kids some fantastic taekwondo advice before a big tournament which made the stay even more special for the kids. Fantastic value for money both for the hotel room and the restaurant which served a great assortment of food all of which was high quality and well prices
The apartment is well equipped with everything you would need. Unexpected little items such as washing up liquid, bubble bath, shower gel etc to name a few were a lovely touch. The towel art swans with the biscuits and chocolates were amazing. Will definitely consider using again when we come to Scotland for our annual family trips. We arrived into Scotland earlier than check in time and was able to gain access early too. Brilliant!
We have stayed here several times now to get away for a cheap date night. The rooms are lovely and modern with a very comfortable bed. If you have a Samsung phone you can screen share to the TV.
Staff are incredibly friendly and it’s very easy to check in and out at the bar area of the restaurant.
If you dine at the restaurant you are able to take things back to your room. We will definitely be back
I get to Hotel and straight away "Gary" spoke with me and trying to help me out with everything.
I'm not English, but every time I was not understanding something Gary was explaining to me again. 5 STARS!
This guy is just a STAR!
The best treatment I got in UK until today in hotels.
If one day I'm back to Scotland, this is the place.
Staff was really friendly and helpful. Room was really nice and clean, had a really nice rest there. Ample parking available for free as well. Can't go wrong with it if you need a night or two rest next to the main road, that leads to the motorway into Glasgow. Will be keeping this hotel on the list, when traveling to Glasgow by car.
Sweeney's Hotel is very well maintained and was spotlessly clean. The rooms and lobby are decorated to a high standard, and the bed was very comfortable. Walk-in shower and a kitchenette in the room were added bonuses. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from Motherwell railway station and the town centre. Recommended.
Amazing stay as always! I stay at the Dakota hotels often and they are second to none… so cosy, staff are so helpful and kind, hotel is so peaceful, rooms are immaculate and decor is lovely! The beds are SO comfy, food and drinks also great. I genuinely cannot fault the Dakota hotels.
The location is perfect for visiting family in Lanark shire with great transport links to Glasgow, Edinburgh and south. The staff are friendly and attentive and a great breakfast. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We visit fairly regularly and always stay here!
Welcoming staff. Just an easy short walk from the railway station. Modern, clean and spacious rooms. Very good bar/restaurant within the hotel serving delicious freshly-cooked meals at good prices. Booking half-board provides even better value.
I was totally impressed with this hotel. The place was very grand with a great bar and restaurant area. The whole hotel is very well presented and the rooms are of a very high standard and staff very polite... Plus great EV Charging point.
Nothing.
