Melvin is a small village, with fantastic views over the sea, towards the Orkneys. It has a small local shop with a wide range of food, including prepacked meat from a local butcher, fresh milk and selection of frozen food. Also a hotel which apparently had takeaway pizzas, and a coffee hut. A delightful beach, with sand washed by the tide, and the local bird life is extensive, Perfect for a quiet holiday stay, with easy access to the NC 500, and all the sights of the north coast
