In season there are a number of eating venues locally as well as two village shops which can be pricey. Stunning wild scenery abounds in every direction. Some very obvious neglect of the road surfaces are evident.

Great place to sample the hospitality of the area, with great locally sourced restaurants in the area. Interesting drive over the high road to Applecross. Definitely a ‘must’ but not for the faint hearted or learner drivers!!!

This little village is an absolute gem.

This little village is an absolute gem. It’s stunningly beautiful, with a main street right on the water. There are several local restaurants with very good food options such as the Bistro and the Lochcarron Hotel. Parking is free and easy, and the shoreline is easily accessible and walkable. It’s a stunning area and a great place to stay if you’d like to see some of the Applecross Peninsula and also Skye & Lochalsh. Be careful on some of the single track roads and be aware that locals do drive fast - just be courteous and allow faster cars to pass. Be sure to check out the Lochcarron Weaving Mill, as well as Strome castle.
