Idyllic 2 Bedroom Self-Contained UpsideDown Annexe, hotel in Llandrindod Wells

Situated in Llandrindod Wells and only 27 km from Elan Valley, Idyllic 2 Bedroom Self-Contained UpsideDown Annexe features accommodation with quiet street views, free WiFi and free private parking.

Situated in a lovely rural location with fabulous views: the only sounds were those of birdsong and bleating lambs. It’s the best equipped house we’ve ever stayed in, there was nothing you could hope for that wasn’t available and spotlessly clean. We had a most comfortable and warm stay as the weather was on the cool side. Our hosts were so welcoming and full of information on great walks and days out. We will definitely be back!

Generally quite like Llandrindod wells, some parts better than others. I especially like the lake area. The Llanerch Inn is a nice pub with good food. Next time I would avoid staying near a pub on a weekend as it was very noisy until 2.30 am at the pub opposite.

I really wanted to write about the Hotel (Hampton Hotel) and the reception I received. I knew I was going to arrive very late: I estimated 11.30, so I phoned forward to apologise. Reception closes at 11.00, but I was told I'd be in Room 6, how to get there and where its key would be. It worked beautifully. Llandrindod Wells is a neat little town, but I was only there to sleep before going to a dog show at Builth Wells: about seven miles away. The area is hilly with narrow winding roads: very pleasant pasture farming. I'll have to go again, and I will.

The hotel was perfect for my one night stay which was to enable me to attend a disco at the nearby Royal British Legion Club. As I was a lady travelling alone I did not want to drive the hour's journey back home after midnight. The best recommendation I can give is that I have already booked two more night's for the same reason.

The lake is well worth the visit and within the grounds are a cafe and boats for hire as well as a sculpture mid-lake, the Rock Spa Park is worth a visit for walking and tasting the water. Whilst there is a train connection it is very sparce, but there are bus services to the coast, Breacon and Hereford. Good variety of small shops and cafes.

It's an old Victorian spa town with a small lake. Although the lake and it's surrounded area has an air of the past Llandrindod Wells needs to improve its image along with the Commodore hotel,as the town has very little to offer the visitor.

Girls trip for our joint 30th Birthdays, Stunning views, very lovely and clean place, we had a very much need needed relaxing break from everything! The area has everything you need from pubs, shops, takeaways, we also visited the Elan Valley which was beautiful. Bluebell lodge has a fab range of facilities, even did my washing before we left! We didn’t leave the hot tub nearly the whole weekend, even during our morning cuppa. Hosts were fab and were there for anything we needed. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back!

We stayed at Pen-Rhos in “Cuckoo’s Nest for four nights in mid January. The scenery surrounding the ‘cabin’ was breathtaking and there was enough space between each cabin for privacy. The space was small, but perfect for two and had every appliance we needed for meals and hot drinks. The bathroom was clean and the shower heated quicker than ours at home. Llandrindod Wells had a few pubs and grocery stores that were close and convenient. Surrounding cities like Newtown, Rhayader, and Builth Wells were great for pub dinners.

I booked "on spec" and was impressed at the personal investment in guests: I was met on arrival, shown my room and given a rundown of facilities and what was available in town (the hotel is slightly outside the historic centre). The room was compact but comfortable - ideal for the solo traveller - with a fantastic view. Breakfast was first class. I look forward to going back.

Quirky 16C hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. We were late in booking and our room was small but had everything needed for an overnight stop. Dog friendly. Large bar area, separate dining room and huge beer garden. Dinner mains were v good. Breakfast was also quite nice even though not a huge choice shown, just ask for your choice and it seems you'll be accommodated.

Very good full 'English' (in Wales) breakfast and the evening meals in the bar were reasonably priced and tasty. The room was warm and there was a good selection of tea/coffee and complimentary biscuits. Overall it was comfortable, warm and good value for money compared to other establishments in Llandrindod.

Staff were excellent, evening meal was superb, spa was lovely. Room was Ok, back of the hotel, breakfast was Ok, plenty of choice, but a bit Luke warm, not very hot. Very bad first night, however, manager Carlos gave us compensation (which was very kind) but our short 2 night break had been ruined!

The flat is within a house and is of high quality interior and comfy bed. It is located 2 minutes walking distance from from the main part of the town and train station and 5-minutes away from Tesco superstore. Excellent stop to visit a number of destinations across mid-Wales if travelling by car.

The views were spectacular! The hut itself was a peaceful hideaway and was fully equipped with what we needed for our getaway. Couldn't have asked for a better place to switch off from our busy lives. The walks were also nearby and breathtaking.
