There is not much to do in Kinross.
There is not much to do in Kinross. We went to the lake and wanted to visit the castle but it was closed due to a private event.
Some shops are closed or are closing in the town.
The small jetty looks abandoned and run down. It might have been nice to walk or cycle around the loch. However, for us 1 day was sufficient time.
We really liked the small cafe Reminisce. Lovely team.

It's a small town but it has everything.
It's a small town but it has everything. Loch Leven is a gem and the surrounding countryside very beautiful. The drives to Perth and Scone Palace as well as to Stirling are gorgeous. It's within half and hour of Edinborough and 45 minutes of Glasgow.
We ate at our hotel, the Kirklands which has a great restaurant so can't say anything about the other places.

The hotel owner told me it would be too late to come, so she said she will cancel my booking.
But when I go on the website, I was not allowed to cancel or get any refund!!!
Horrible and unfair!
I would want other people to see this and never book with this hotel!
As this was my first trip alone to Scotland for a family wedding I liked the security at the property and knowing I could contact Gerry if I needed to. The location was central in Kinross so good access to local amenities and buses. Gerry provided very useful information prior to and during my stay and was a kind, hospitable host. The accommodation was very comfortable and homely and I felt very welcome.
Wow...luxury 5 star apartment in the heart of tranquil Kinross. Exquisite furnishings and highest quality finishings throughout the property. Bedrooms in particular were quite stunning worthy of any top end boutique hotel.
The welcome pack and communication also first class. We will definitely return to the wonderful Kinross Reaidence in the future.
On arrival to the you are taken by the colour and ambiance of the hotel. We were put at ease immediately and whisked up to our rooms with ease.
There were options to eat in the bar area or restaurant and both were good choices.
A lively atmosphere made the whole stay very enjoyable.
The food in the evening and at breakfast was first class.
Great location - there's a brewery over the road so excellent beers in the hotel bar. Lobby was recently renovated, much more modern than the outside. The corridors and rooms definitely a little tired, but clean and in good working order all the same. Excellent outdoor areas for drinks etc and staff extremely friendly.
Well located and well sized room. Large bed and bathroom with bath and shower. Proper check-in procedure and a paper invoice on leaving. Reception experience was engaging and positive. The property is located next to the Kinross golf course and Loch Leven, I had a lovely walk around both on a pleasant, sunny evening.
Really good location if meeting friends in Kinross and no way back to your home location. Easy to access with your own back door to the property. Very similar to a hotel room with tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge. Baynes bakers just a walk away and open early.
Spacious self-contained apartment with a very nice welcome hamper from welcoming hosts.
Perfectly located for exploring Clackmannanshire as well as Kinross and Perth. Quiet, yet within easy reach of the motorway.
The hotel is very clean and well kept. The staff is incredibly friendly showing you to you're room and making your stay wonderful. They remembered all the needs of our family each day.
Room to move! Far better equipped and spacious than B&Bs. Bright and comfortable. An ideal base from which to explore the area, including cycling and walking. Responsive hosts.
I arranged an overnight stay during a road trip. Kinross was right location for stopover.
I am glad I found Kirklands Hotel, lovely place with friendly staff and good food.
Beautiful location overlooking the Loch. Plenty of trails close by for hiking and running. The cabin was spacious, clean and well stocked! We highly recommend it for families!
Nice scent on entry. Clean. Bed comfortable. Great smart TV with loads of streaming channels. Like staying in a lovely hotel but more spacious, privacy and good facilities.
