Very easy to find as it was near to the Castle of Mey and the ferry.
Extremely friendly welcome. We even had help with our luggage which we weren't expecting..
Lovely large double room with TV and tea, coffee, & hot chocolate making facilities. and ensuite shower, & WC.
It was great to have our own space and not at all like an old fashioned B&B.
We were asked what time we'd like a table for breakfast and then left to our own devices.
There was even a table in the hall with maps, information and caramel bars to buy.

This is a very luxurious B&B in a beautiful setting overlooking the Castle of Mey. Our room was just lovely - and so comfortable. Amazing bathroom! The residents lounge area was also stunning. Highly recommend. The staff were so welcoming and helpful.
Great location if you want to go to The Orkneys. There are also many other locations close for sight seeing from here. The view over the Pentland crossing.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly with great advice on the area.

At the edge of Scotland, the gateway to the Orkneys or a sea tour. No facilities to speak of and the nearest Tesco is a 20 minute drive, so come prepared or just pass through here. The drive up is a hazard in terms of road maintenance. .

The rooms were not cleaned and the toilet was actually full of crap so we had to call them and they cleaned it right away. The staff seemed to be overwhelmed, and the bathroom was extremely small so for one night it was not bad but can't stay for a few more days. The rooms were very cramped and when you enter the door could only be opened partially as it hit the bed. The configuration of bed placement was poor. That said, the location of this hotel was excellent and the staff were very pleasant to deal with.

Stunning sea views which could be enjoyed from inside the property or out on the deck. Excellent facilities and well maintained property, cleaned to a high standard. Hosts were friendly and very accommodating. We were left alone to enjoy our break but had support on site when needed. Superb onsite staff. Our heating had stopped working but this was resolved quickly and didn't intrude on our short break.
There were some lovely onsite gift shops. There was also a cafe which we didn't have time to visit. There is also a small post office a short walk away with a few essentials available if needed. We prepared our own food and found the kitchen facilities and equipment in the kitchen to be fantastic.
I would have preferred less outdoor lighting at night to reduce light pollution for viewing the beautiful night sky.

We went for the walking and took the John O'Groats trail. As we went on Boxing day it was all closed, but there are a few shops there worth a look.
You can drive all the way and there is parking at £3 per day.

We enjoyed a boat trip whilst at John O'Groats even though we didn't see any dolphins or whales. The local brewery with attached bar was a great place to spend an afternoon.
We enjoyed a nice evening meal at the Seaview Hotel just two minutes drive from our accommodation.
There were a few tourist gift shops where you can stock up on all your gifts for friends and family.
There is also the famous signpost where everybody has their photographs taken.
The Seaview Hotel is a great place for a stopover when visiting John O Groats. We had a lovely room with a sea view which was very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff on hand. The bar is a lovely area to relax after a long day with excellent home cooked fayre at very reasonable prices. Although we were only there for one night, our stay was very enjoyable.
Location was excellent. The house and neighbouring mill are beautiful with incredible view and both kids and dog loved the easy walk around the seaside to John O Groats. Lots to see in the area. Kitchen very well equipped. Loved that by staying at the cottage we were helping history and the renovation of the old mill.
Despite the near monopoly it has in the area, the hotel is very welcoming, well maintained and a pleasure to stay at.
Have to say that the shower in our room (#26) ranks amongst the best have ever had anywhere in terms of Power, Temp Control and Cleanliness.
Amazing location, a small walk away from John o groats / 2 minute drive away. The property had very secure parking and the owner was nice and friendly. The cottage itself has history which is interesting, and for the price you can’t go wrong
Host was really helpful and helped with a table reservation at the sea view hotel rooms were clean and comfortable the continental breakfast was more than adequate and only about half mile from John o Groats great location
Great location in John O Groats, easy to walk to the harbour. The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and clean. Loved visiting the animals, especially Betty and Mary! Breakfast was good too
The Seaview is in a great location, overlooking john o Groats, and with views across to the Orkneys. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms clean and comfortable.
It was nicely isolated but only 5 minutes from John O Groats and ferry terminal, restaurant just down the road.
Made to feel very welcome, highly recommend.
