I stayed in this hotel many years ago and was awful and am pleased to say that under new management it was a pleasure to stay there. Worthy of mention was the food especially the evening meals were superb, very tasty and good quality. The serving staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Wonderful staff and a beautiful building to stay in. We were on the top floor which was a little warm but not unbearable and we were kindly supplied a fan. The room was otherwise very comfortable. Excellent value for money and a great location!

Bed was comfortable, had all the facilities I needed, with a microwave that I wasn't expecting. The owner made sure everything was in my room, made sure there was fresh milk in the fridge and offered to take my luggage up to the top floor. Nothing in the room was torn, broken or worn out, the decor could do with an update as it's a little dated and mismatched. I liked the thick curtains to block out the light and the sash window I could open to let in some air. I left early and the clear instruction for leaving the key on the peg board was convenient and easy to follow. The building is a listed building and so there are some compromises as far as modernisation are concerned, but I like properties with character so didn't bother me.
