The staff were great. They left out a breakfast (continental) with a lot of options (which was amazing for a late night snack that I seen a few other Guest doing the same.) room was clean. The back way to the rooms is nice and explained well so we could come and go at any point without going through the pub. They also have beautiful birds out back.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The dinner was delicious and also for vegetarians. The gardens are lovely. It was very quiet at night. It would be nice to have bathrobes supplied in the rooms especially as there are spa facilities to walk to. The bathroom fan in our room needed repair work done on it. Altogether a rather charming place to stay and definitely worth a revisit.

I didn't see much of the town as we were in the area to golf. It is a "new town", so lots of separate residential streets connected by roundabouts. I didn't see the town centre, so can't comment on that.

Really quiet area .
Really quiet area . Lovely areas to walk , staff really friendly and polite. Only down fall was asked for double bed and got 2 singles pushed together . Mattresses were springs and you could feel this , the bathroom needed a wee 're vamp if I'm honest but was a really nice place

Old fashioned pleasant hotel. Good rooms ,facilities and
staff. Pricing fair.
Visit spoilt by 2 weddings there that created noise and nuisance late at night. Extra guests stretching the hotels
capability to cope beyond their limit.
Glenrothes is a boring new town but hotel is outside the town and a good base for exploring that area and beyond.
Previous reviews did not mention the wedding problem as I think there were no weddings due to covid.

An area which was classified as a ‘new town’ some years ago.
An area which was classified as a ‘new town’ some years ago.
It is a ‘must miss’ for any visitor to Scotland
It has a sad feel to it.
In dire need of investment and offers nothing to any traveller/visitor.
Room, large bed, cleanliness, friendly helpful staff, food, drink and the prices of the previous two examples.
Having stayed in Woodside in Glenrothes, before we moved 182miles North to Tain in Ross-shire we knew the surrounding areas and set up of the Golden Acorn and this was ideal to meet and have meals and drinks with our family and friends.
Hotel and location was fine, however a wedding party was booked into the hotel which we were not made aware of. Subsequently very noisy until 4.30 am which spilled over to the corridors and car park. We stopped at this hotel to break our journey very bad choice if we had been made aware of wedding party we would of chose another hotel.
The bar food was exceptional, plus the staff were right on the ball and were very helpful. Ten minutes after each order, my food comes, which I think is somewhat impressive. Next time if I am near that area in Fife, I will go there for sure, as for friends and family having a holiday in Fife, that will the place I will recommend.
The people send management were great.
Especially since booking com FUBARed my reservation.
You booked me for o e night less than I asked for and the staff was kind enough to help me find another hotel for Monday night. Rest assured I will never use booking.com for anything again!
Lovely hotel, great staff, really helpful, nice room, plenty of room, clean and comfy, smelt amazing, evening meal was really nice and reasonable prices. Didn't do breakfast as was only 7am-8am which was a bit early for us. Would definitely stay again, great location
Everything the hotel was excellent , room was clean. Receptionist was very helpful asked for a late check out and she sorted it out. Would definitely recommend this hotel. And the breakfast was fantastic also. Could not fault anything. Pool was excellent
The room was beyond expectations and well worth the money also the owner is well punctuated and well mannered we thought we were in an actual hotel, was shocked beyond belief tbf, im glad i booked as should everyone!
