It was an amazing experience. We never knew what it would be like to stay in the old Abbey but the combination of the old (history, beautiful architecture, stunning views of the lake and the surrounding landscapes) and the new (neat, modern facilities, access to the pool and sauna) was exceptional. We loved how big our apartment was. Our daughter had her own room and bathroom and we all had a separate living room with majestic high ceilings and a big kitchen. We also got a lovely hamper as a welcome gift, which was very handy when didn’t feel like braving the cold to go out to buy a snack.

Location was perfect for Highland exploring, parking was secluded and safe for the 3 motorbikes we had with us and we didn't feel the need to security chain them while we were there. The house was very roomy and comfortable for 3 people with a great sized kitchen, roomy bedrooms and plenty of space to have some time to yourself

We had a big room with a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The hosts were very helpful and breakfast was very nice with hot (eggs, bacon, tea) and cold (bread, cereals, orange jus) options.
The place is very well situated, and from a walking distance from pubs and the Loch Ness cruise.

Lovely area, right on the end of Loch Ness with terrific views. The Canal Locks are great to watch in operation, with all types of boats going through. Good restaurants and nice pub along the canal. Good central place to visit other areas, Inverness, Mallaig and Fort William.

Situated at the end of Loch Ness with a steep set of locks which form the start of the Caledonian Canal, Fort Augustus is a must visit destination if you are in the area. There is a good sized car park and an excellent choice of places to eat. We had an excellent meal at the Chinese restaurant. Lots of opportunities for boat trips along the loch and some nice shops for souvenirs.

We stayed here only one night whilst doing the Great Glen Way although it seemed like a beautiful place and there seemed to be many other things to do in the area. Lots of options for dinner (compared with other towns along the way).

Fort Augustus is a great spot to attractions in the area and easy drive for location upto 2hours away, like Glencoe, Fort William, Glenfinnin Viaduct, Aviemore ski fields, Urquart Castle, Inverness, Skye. Cruising or walk along Loch Ness are brilliant.
The town is gorgeous with many good eateries within walking distance or a short drive away.
Locals are friendly, inviting and engaging. I would live there if I could!

Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really.
Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really. Walked around a bit in the evening when we arrived. Only there for 2 days and used as a base for trips around Loch Ness - Urquart Castle, Culloden Battlefield. Which were all great.
Arrived on a Friday night after 8pm in early November. Only places still serving food were a very expensive Chinese restaurant in a hotel and a place called The Moorings which appeared to be a kebab shop that dabbled in everything else. Unfortunately, they should stick to one thing and really try to nail that. We ordered the worst eat out Pizzas we've ever eaten - worse than home brand supermarket frozen and they were very expensive - £15+ each. Even the local chip shop was closed, at 8.30pm on a Friday! OK, we didn't come for the late night fast food. Bring your own or eat a good lunch.

Much quieter than Inverness and a delightful pretty village with good pubs and recommend The Bothy. Take a short walk to the very bottom of Loch Ness. Also take a drive down the much quieter and superbly more scenic route down the east side of Loch Ness on B862/B852. Fascinating to see the canal locks in the village.
This place is Magical and Lovely! I liked the gardens, Nathalie's courtesy, the super breakfast, the room Loch Ness we stayed in! I want to come back soon in this dream called Kettle House!
It takes some time but you can reach Fort Augustus centre on foot through the wood from the B&B.
We got here by car and found the position really strategic for our journey. We managed to see Inverness, Fort Augustus and part of Skye Island.
I warn you : It'extremely hard to get disappointed here.
Fort Augustus is a nice village, south of the Loch Ness, with lots of craft shops, some pubs and restaurants, quite lively in summer.
The establishment is an hotel and Chinese restaurant; I got the room which has an independent entrance door on the 1st floor (stairs from the parking). It was quiet and the room was large (double bedroom and single bed) and clean.
Breakfast was good with options.
The property is situated in a prime location right on the loch ness! It’s a short walk away from Fort Augustus. Our hosts Osh and Ash were so lovely and helpful. We could not fault our stay, we were even able to canoe on the loch and the scenery is just breath taking. Such a magical place and great value for money, you get what you pay for, it was fantastic! We look forward to coming back again!
Fantastic hotel [more like a b&b] with terrific staff. We arrived after a full 24 hours of traveling from the States then driving from Inverness and were exhausted and they let us check in early which was heavenly[Thanks Lou]. The room was bright, clean and comfy and the breakfasts were perfect with wonderful pastries and delicious cooked food too. Highly, highly recommend.
Perfect location for walking / sightseeing. Fort Augustus has plenty of places to eat & drink. The house was very large with lots of ensuite facilities. The house was also very warm and comfortable - the Aga in the kitchen was a particulary nice feature. We were also very grateful to receive wine, biscuits and milk on our arrival.
The property was excellent, no staff, all self service, get code sent for door & room, great view from window over the Fort Augustus bridge, location perfect, right on Caledonian Canal in village centre, 10 minutes walk down to Loch Ness, good Pubs, good food, perfect location, great facilities and very clean. Recommended.
Greeting staff were very helpful, location is fantastic in Fort Augustus Lochness, right beside the locks, pubs and loch cruises. Spar petrol station 2 minute walk away sells pretty much everything at fair prices. Great location to watch the boats navigate the canal or explore wider if you wish
The rooms were comfortable and clean. The parking was easy and ample. The breakfast every morning was great. It was an easy walk to town and down to Loch Ness. The owner was really friendly and offered lots of tips for our travels and good places to eat while we were out on our adventures.

This property is very unique and interesting. The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful. Walkable to downtown Fort Augusts and abbey is located on Loch Ness.
The location was lovely, right outside Fort Augustus on a quiet street with lovely grounds. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Natalie was a lovely host.
The room was extremely well appointed with good quality furniture, fixtures & fittings. It had loads of parking space and was only a 5 minute walk from the center of Fort Augustus.
