The little added extras milk, juice, butter, jam etc were a lovely touch. The host checked in to make sure we were enjoying our stay, which we thought was nice!

I can’t believe this property has been awarded 4*. You would be better and more comfortable staying in the London Underground for the night. This place is a shambles.

We had a room with a wet room, which was good for me as I have mobility issues. The bonus was that it was also dog friendly. It was also good for us as it was just off the M6, and it has plenty of grounds to walk a dog where dog bins are provided. Also, if you need to take a longer walk with your dog, there's a nice park next door

Have stayed a few times and must say the food is spectacular as always and amongst the best anywhere we have stayed.
Liver pate was fabulous and the rest just as good. the total cost including wine was very reasonable indeed.

The restaurant and bar were great with friendly staff, a good choice of food in a lovely setting, the food was delicious.
The room was spacious however our room 110 was overlooking the rear of the building the view was of cables and fans which could be heard through out the night. On checking my payment details I discovered they charged me twice, when I spoke to the receptionist she apologised and said she would credit my payment back, she wasn’t aware I had made the payment earlier in the day before my arrival following a telephone call from a different hotel receptionist, I couldn’t understand why this didn’t show up on their computer when I checked in? It appears there’s a lack of communication between staff members. Looks fabulous on entry but rooms need updating. The setting by a lake would probably be great in the summer but this time of year the pathway around the ground was notoriously muddy and overgrown.
