Cosy and comfortable with everything we needed. Great value and lovely breakfast. Really good to be able to use dining area for our own food and not expected to buy drinks from the bar

The stay here was brilliant. It had everything that we needed for our 4 night stay. It was really quiet at night and Tina and Simon helped us out with information and recommended places to go. We stayed in Lockerbie as we went to a wedding in Springkell. It was about 20 minutes drive away so is really easy to reach.

Ecclefechan itself is a bit of a ghost town very tired looking centre just a small general store. We went to eat at the Cressfield hotel on outskirts of village by caravan site.We ate there and would reccommend their evening meals.Ecclefechan is in quite a good position to see some of the surrounding countryside and coast.

Lovely Hotel, 400 years old and lots of character, very friendly, regular bus service to Lockerbie, Annan, Gretna and Carlisle. We had a great adventure. Hotel was very friendly and we loved our stay. The food was good pub grub and the hotel was lovely as was the room. We had a beautiful on suite. A big comfy bed. Absolutely no complaints at all and we shall go back. Thank you Mary and our lovely barmaid Karen. Nothing was too much trouble.

We were welcomed as soon as we arrived by Ste who was more than helpful during our stay. The landlady made a point of coming to sit near us during the evening and we had a nice conversation not only with her but a local gentleman called Ben who we had a few drinks with. The barmaid was really good and although the place was busy she didn't drop a stitch. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again on the next trip to Scotland.

We liked the location and the proximity to the hotel where we had dinner on the first night. We liked the size of all the rooms especially the bedrooms. The bedding and towels were spotless as were all the dishes in the kitchen.

The room very clean comfortable and well equipped.
The home-made food was delicious, good value and plentiful.
The old house where the hotel is based is grand and full of character.
This hotel and its lovely keepers were friendly, welcoming and run a fabulous hotel. The food is great, my room was absolutely spotless and extremely comfortable. It's a wonderful place and I'd recommend it highly.
Hotel being upgraded. Room we had was large and airy with all mod cons. Great situation for touring around the south west border. Food was good especially the Ecclefechan Tart was yummie. Staff nice and chatty.
To stay in this building is like to go back in time, it's a very nice traditional Scottish hotel, with nice personnel, good food in the pub/restaurant and great breakfast :)
Spent 1 night and the room was really clean with all details in place. Bit of fresh milk, different types of coffee, warm and same level of a hotel, but smaller.
This hotel was a great stay. Welcomed at the door, check in was quick, room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was perfect. Parking was good. Thank you.
Wonderful dinner with cooking of highest quality and very well priced for the obvious effort put into the meals. The hotel itself was very comfortable.
