Interior decor in the public areas was wonderful. Loved the wood panelling and its history and the detailed painted plasterwork.
The owner's dry humour!

The stay here was brilliant. It had everything that we needed for our 4 night stay. It was really quiet at night and Tina and Simon helped us out with information and recommended places to go. We stayed in Lockerbie as we went to a wedding in Springkell. It was about 20 minutes drive away so is really easy to reach.

Dalton is a small village surrounded by beautiful countryside, and it is easy to get to Dumfries and the Solway coast (the drive to Dumfries includes some lovely views). We particularly enjoyed the wildlife and castle at Caerlaverock (half an hour's drive away).
