In a country village, the Castlecary House Hotel is 4 minutes from Cumbernauld Airport, 15 minutes from Stirling and 30 minutes from Glasgow. It offers home-cooked food, real ales and malt whiskies.

Lovely hotel, nice and quiet location. Good shower, but water does go out onto the floor that's the only thing I'd change. 11am check out time too which was nice seeing as we are on holiday from early mornings and work 😀
In the heart of the charming town of Kilsyth, this modern hotel is surrounded by wonderful views of the surrounding Lanarkshire countryside and the Campsie Fells.
In lush, landscaped grounds, in the heart of central Scotland, this luxurious 4-star hotel boasts an award-winning restaurant, free Wi-Fi and stylish, individually designed boutique rooms.

Cumbernauld village is part of the huge Cumbernauld estate, a town outside of Glasgow. Only stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting family in the area. Easy access to Glasgow and Edinburgh etc. We ate at the Coorie which is part of the Black Bull inn, food good and staff very friendly and accommodating. Didn’t do any site seeing so can’t comment on the local town faclities, but a huge place and a car is necessary.

Have stayed here several times.
Have stayed here several times. Location and fact it’s pet friendly suits my needs. Staff are always amazing. Friendly and helpful. Recent visit disappointing. Room not as comfort as I remembered and breakfast definitely not as good as before.
Coffee stations not working or needing replenished.
Orange juice dispenser needed replenished.
Sausage/bacon platters at buffet needed replenished at different times.
Embarrassing having yo ask staff about- coffee station, orange juice, sausage platter, bacon platter.
Will always go back as location and pet friendly is perfect, but having to pay £20 for pet should ensure client gets same Hilton comfort as other guests.
Perhaps more staff in kitchen would ensure quality Hilton breakfast.
Full praise to Westerwood Staff.. They are the reason I would return.

This is a very strange town.
This is a very strange town. I think we stayed in the old part. Small, only 2 not very nice looking restaurants and some take aways. To get to the new part you need to drive as we could not find any proper roads unless you want to go past a dual carriageway. 30 minute walk anyway. The new part of town is even worse than the old part, no real city centre, many restaurant chains.
Went to a park nearby, that was OK.

Its a quiet central location with Edinburgh Sterling to the East - Glasgow and the Trossachs to the West and excellent road links.
Good food at The Black Bull in the Village.
Book parking at attractions in advance as they can be busy.

I would recommend visiting Cumbernauld Village but, unless you enjoy large shopping malls, not the Town Centre, a 1950s 'New Town'.
The Village was the original part and the Town that grew from it was carefully planned with lots of green spaces. It could have been more enjoyable if there wasn't so much decay. It doesn't look as though money is spent on repairing and reviving what must have been a massive improvement on the back streets of Glasgow.
Bus service no. 37X to Falkirk takes you directly back to Cumbernauld Village - 2 miles away from the Town Centre.

We were really disappointed with the standard of cleanliness. The shower and shower head were dirty. The doorway was littered with cigarette ends. We were in 4 rooms before the room w3 we given was suitable. Not sure how this fits with COVID guidelines
Being not vaccinated through health issues, I particularly liked the fact that I had my own front door and had my car parked right outside of it. The staff were all WONDERFULLY polite, personable and helpful. The room was spacious, shower hot, bed extremely comfirtable. I loved it and was very comfirtable there. Managed to do a one hour zoom meeting just after I arrived and was told if I had a problem tgey would find me a place to do it in the hotel.
The room was spacious and clean, bathroom was nice and the shower was strong so all in all the room was great. We had dinner and breakfast and both were good. Dinner had just enough choice on the menu for everyone and the food was delicious. The breakfast was excellent and nice to see square sausages :-).
The pool spa area is nice too.
The friendliness of the staff and people in the area in general. All very welcoming and happy to chat
Hotel and room was very clean.
No noise issues from other guests either which was a bonus.
Restaurant excelled expectations on both times we went for dinner, taste was amazing, brilliant service, excellent value for money.
bed was comfortable, room was dated, food nice but was told when i should go for dinner (18:30), breakfast was nice and fresh. waiter at breakfast could be more cheerful and friendly. ladies working on the evening in the dining area were spot on.
This was a perfect place to spend the night on our way to Glasgow. The room was clean and tidy. It was a bit of a creaky building (I think there must have been another room directly above ours), but otherwise it was nice and quiet.
The location is perfect for day trips to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sterling, Loch Lomond. Very close to Falkrik wheel and the kelpies. The cottage was super clean, luxurious and maintained very well. Perfect stay for a summer
Extremely handy straight off the motorway and convenient for visiting the nearby Falkirk wheel.Ample parking, check-in easy. Room was spacious and clean. Staff helpful. Food was not awe inspiring but perfectly edible.
It was handy for a stop en route to Glasgow. The room was lovely and clean and bedding smelled of fresh laundry. Plenty of coffee, tea and complimentary milk and biscuits.
Food at the pub was excellent.
All good value with great service. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. It’s fifth time stayed even spent 1st night of our marriage at hotel with friends and family
Location was perfect for us, in between Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh. Very friendly staff and very friendly patrons so much so we were able to stay an extra day.
