OYO Eastbank Hotel, Speyside Scotland, hotel in Craigellachie

The OYO Eastbank Hotel, Speyside Scotland is found in Rothes, right in the heart of the world-famous 'Whisky Trail'.

The staff were friendly and the check-in process was smooth, which we greatly appreciated. However, I feel it's important to mention that the hotel did not entirely meet our expectations as set by the description and photographs at the time of booking. The hotel is situated on a central street which, while convenient, is quite noisy due to heavy traffic. Additionally, the facilities seem outdated, including an old bathroom, uncomfortable bed, and worn-out furniture, which do not align with the three-star rating advertised. In our view, the hotel more accurately fits a two-star rating. We hope this feedback is helpful as you continue to improve guest experiences in the future.

    Craigallachie itself is very small.

Craigallachie itself is very small. If you are out and about in the car it is perfect for you. The Highlander Inn was a great place to eat. Aberlour just 2 miles away was in walking distance and the walk along the river was nice. You had to walk along the main road to get to the path though. The cottage is just off the main road but it is quite peaceful. You don`t hear the traffic inside really. Unfortunately we didn`t get to many tourist places as they were still closed.

Close to lots of things to do indoors and out. Enjoyed the trip even though most of the distilleries were closed. Had a great visit to the cooperage and lots of walks which were accessible and manageable by us.

    Very relaxed and relaxing.

Very relaxed and relaxing. Friendly laid back staff, no fuss about checkin or checkout times, or about dogs being a bit boisterous. The restaurant is informal, in a bar setting, and the food was good standard. Lovely walks nearby, just right for a short winter break with roaring log fire and a cosy whisky bar.

A relaxing stay but we did have to eat in more than anticipated as it was difficult to get booked in to any of the local restaurants/pubs. We managed to get booked in to the Copper Dog on our last night and really enjoyed it.

Small hotel that provides excellence size of room, high ceiling, large bathroom (we booked family room), adequate furnitures in the room. They have a small kitchen, which makes pretty good dinner and breakfast. I am a frequently traveler, and not staying small hotel or Airbnb room, I booked this room based on the pictures showed on the web, and price. I didn’t expect the facility was really nice, like a good hotel (not a motel!) room. Highly recommend.

Breakfast was delicious, the room was large and really beautifully furnished. Lovely location and also near many distilleries. The whisky bar in the hotel was great, with a super knowledgeable and friendly barman. We also enjoyed dinner at the restaurant.

A large room and a comfortable bed. The hotel has a luxurious and elegant interior design. Also we like the restaurant (The Copper Dog) and the whisky bar (The Quaich). You can spend a full evening here enjoying the food and whisky.

Really quiet hotel - much further back from the road than other Aberlour / Rothes hotels. Great food too, breakfast and also the 'light bite' platters were of a really high standard, with super service.
