Right from the start this is a wonderful place to stay - beautiful, peaceful location and a lovely old building. The welcome from the girl manning reception/ serving dinner was truly exceptional as was all of the service we had there. We had a lovely, comfortable room with a great shower. The food was delicious and the dining room is lovely with wonderful views. Can't recommend this place enough. There was even home made shortbread in the room. So nice!

This was a lovely friendly quirky place to stay! Perfect for an overnight with my Elvis-fan teenaged daughter - fifties-style diner, playing music she likes, Tunnocks teacakes in the room... what more can you ask for? And the sea view from the room was exceptional. We also had dinner there: fantastic burgers, lots of food, happy friendly staff. Felt like a real family business.

The Victoria Hotel on the Isle of Bute offers a prime location with its breathtaking marina and ocean views, especially from the lounge dining area where you can truly appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. Our room was on the 2nd floor; do note that the hotel does not have a lift, which wasn't a problem for us but might be worth considering for those with mobility issues.
Situated above its own terraced gardens, The Glenburn Hotel is a Victorian sandstone building which offers panoramic views across Rothesay Bay to the Cowal Peninsula.

We only stayed one night at the Colintraive Hotel on our way...
We only stayed one night at the Colintraive Hotel on our way to Bute but it was a very enjoyable experience. Excellent food and drink with very helpful staff. Hopefully manage to stay 2 night the next time to do a bit of exploring Cowal Peninsular.
There is a card in the bedroom that you fill out with you breakfast requirement. Only mark what you do require or you could end up with one very large breakfast. It caused great hilarity at the breakfast table with the other guests as there was a few that had filled it out wrong.
There is a nice community garden and a folk museum within a easy walk.

I was travelling alone, for work, and received the warmest welcome on my arrival on a gloomy Tuesday evening. I was upgraded to an enormous, corner room with amazing views. Real coffee and cafetiere in room plus homemade shortbread biscuits!! Outstanding dinner and breakfast. Very lovely hosts and staff. I wish I could have stayed longer but I look forward to a return visit. Definitely recommended.
