Used Carmel as a central point for visiting various parts of Wales.
We visited the National Botanical Gardens of Wales. Took a steam train ride from Aberystwyth to Devils Bridge and went Zip lining in Aberdare.
We ate out in local restaurants and pubs each evening after a day of activity. which was a good way to relax.

The surroundings here are breathtaking.
The surroundings here are breathtaking. If you find yourself a room with a view of the hills and valleys please don't shut your curtains! The view in the morning is amazing.
Carmel is a brilliant place for couples to get away and enjoy some quality time without the rush of normal life getting on the way. It is so peaceful and tranquil that you'll be able to fully relax and enjoy each others company.
It's also good for a family get away if you enjoy exploring! There's loads of streams and rivers to see and plenty of places to take kids for an adventure or a picnic.
It is probably better to have your own transport as some places are quite far apart and you can end up staying quite a while away from any shops etc.
There are plenty of shops and restaurants to visit in the village centre which is also beautiful and surprisingly busy on the weekends. We really enjoyed the fish and chips from the local chippy.
