THE Waterloo Arms Hotel, hotel in Burnmouth

Set in Chirnside, 15 km from The Maltings Theatre & Cinema, THE Waterloo Arms Hotel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a bar.

The breakfast kind of made it for us. The gent making it is the previous owner and a very nice guy. Possibly the best breakfast we ever had at a hotel. The bar staff were also very friendly. We had some good chats with locals in the bar as well, which had a nice fire going. We did Sunday night in room 3 and went back Thursday in room 5 on our way back from Scotland. 3 is a Twin and 5 a large double room with sky tv.

It was nice to have traditional English breakfast in an old English house. The area, the house and the garden were beautiful. The brief conversation with the erudite host (Gregory) was a bonus.

Burnmouth Harbour is the Oldest Harbour in Scotland.

Burnmouth Harbour is the Oldest Harbour in Scotland. There are no Pubs there apart from the One on the A1 at the top of the Hill. So the the people and Guests you get there are grateful for that and you don't get your lager louts or people wanting to be loud and out if order. The people we meet there are always respectful to others and expect the same back which is always the Case.If you want to get away from the Hassle and Bussle Burnmouths the place.Ive seen people just get back in the car in 5 mins because it's not there cup of Tea.Ive been going there every year for 15 years and my partner been going there since she was a child and is 40.
