A beautiful, old building with lots of character and history. It was welcoming to see the log fires blazing on arrival, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom was clean (carpets a little stained), the bed was comfy and the lounge areas were cozy and a nice place to relax in the evening. It was well located for Hay-on-Wye just a short drive away, and we enjoyed some nice walks directly from the pub.

We had a very comfortable stay and a delicious breakfast at Alltybrain farmhouse. Our host was extremely welcoming and gave us a very good recommendation of where to go out for dinner. Our room and en-suite were spacious and we enjoyed having a lovely view and staying in a very peaceful location.

Brecon is lovely and it is very welcoming.
Brecon is lovely and it is very welcoming. Be prepared for a quiet town that doesn't go out of its way to attract tourists but allows you to join in with the spirit of Wales. Sundays are quiet and shops are usually closed so a day of relaxation is the way to go.

Arrived in rain and dark and used instructions provided to access key safe. Instructions were wrong (the key safe was located in a different position than advised) and when I called for assistance there was no reply. As a result I had to seek and pay for alternative accommodatation. I have tried to seek a refund with no response to date. Worst experience ever!!

Brecon is a lovely old market town with plenty of coffee shops and places to see nearby. Perfect base for exploring the Bannau Brycheiniog. It's sat at the foot of Pen y Fan, but please, do visit one of the other hills - everyone goes to Pen y Fan, but you can have a mountain to yourself if you pick one of the others and the views are just as good. Try Lord Hereford's Knob - if for no other reason than the funny name.

I was born in Brecon many years ago and moved away to further my career. Now retired and living in Carlisle I was delighted to see on my return visit that the town has had a mini revival with lots of independent shops. For a small town it still boasts of a Natwest Bank.
I ate at both the Wellington Hotel and the Clarence Inn. Both were fine.

Hosts were incredible; welcoming and very informative. Felt like our own little house in the Welsh countryside. The loft was a perfect little getaway for us after Christmas. Hot tub was lovely after exploring Brecon beacons and walking up Pen y fan. Lovely shower and bathroom area and super clean. Very excited to return!
Location was great. Close to Brecon and easy to travel around the Brecon Beacons. The house had everything you'd need for a stay away. Kitchen facilities were great and lots of space to chill out; inside the house & outside in the garden. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back.
Great location, very friendly owners who were very accommodating. Modern flat and located within walking distance to Brecon town centre. Ideal for 4/5 people. Would recommend to all 👍
