The room was comfortable, a good size, nice breakfast and friendly staff. The reception were available for a later check-in, which was very helpful.
The location was just close enough to drive to Cardiff and the Brecon Beacons. If we had stayed for longer, I would have used the spa also.

I loved the decoration of the house very stylish vintage style hippie style but also modern in places. I liked the fact that you could relax in the garden with a drink and vape outside and admire the stunning welsh valleys in the backyard!

I stayed at the lodge I was playing at the local golf club it was 8 min away the room had all the facilities you need it was clean very comfortable bed, large TV comfortable living room cannot complain would recommend to anybody

Travelled on a business trip and staying at the Lodge was a delight. Lovely welcome from the host, offering home from home comforts. Tastefully furnished and comfortable accommodation, I only wish it was available for my next trip, I will be staying again. Highly recommended.

We were only here for a night but needed to go in the town for breakfast. There were plenty of places to eat, a cinema and shops. We liked the facilities and would visit again. There are lots of lovely places around to drive to within a reasonable time, such as Caerphilly Castle and Cardiff.

McKenzies cafe. they do the best food in the area, breakfast to die for, staff are soooooo nice and polite. They were so helpful in sorting out a "Takeout" for the journey home. Parking (at the time) was free, behind the main street (coming in off the roundabout 50 yards on the right, sharp right). Asda, drive past (on your right) about half a mile, turn right, half a mile back to the shop ?? Nice cinema.

Blackwood is a small town with the main road holding most of the pubs, restaurants and shops, so easy to get around. There is plenty of parking in the town including a Lark car park if you do some shopping in ASDA......Also good for the lowest cost fuel in the area.
If you want fast food, there is a KFC, Domino's, MacDonalds, Papa John's, Fish and Chips, Subway's, plus more.
I like to eat at Red Chilli Indian, Bistro 8, Amici and The Black Prince Pub.
Great location with beautiful views, Food was to a really good standard with the exception of the steak and ale pie (steak was a little tough) but everything else on the plate was good. The room I had 104 was a little dated and the poor Wi-Fi made it difficult to carry out emails etc. but the bed was extremely comfortable. Really liked having use of the facilities and would recommend the hotel to others.
The whole apartment is very well decorated, super spacious and comfortable, just what we needed! Rob was excellent in organising for the key to be given to us.
Good location if you're willing to drive after attending a concert in Cardiff and If you want to avoid the extremely high prices in the city.
The room was lovely and clean. It was a very busy and noisy hotel because of the pub but that didn't bother us on this occasions. Once pub was closed it was really quiet. Beautiful views. Unfortunately we had to go into town for Breakfast and it was unfortunate that the kitchen finished @ 20:30.
Beautiful hotel and location. Obviously used for weddings, sue to its opulence, the exterior is grand and the interior original and historic. The restaurant dinner was delicious, and the breakfast (optional) was plentiful!
Lovely old pub hotel. It was staffed by one girl who was amazing, checked in, handled bar, served meals was very helpful.
She should be paid a bonus payment. Pub meals were excellent.
