Our philosophy is to create a hotel which fulfils our idea of the perfect place to go and stay. This perfect place, whether restaurant or hotel, should be entirely in sympathy with its surroundings.

We were going to a wedding so needed a convenient place to stay. The hotel met all of our needs including a lovely breakfast.

Aberfoyle is a fairly small town with small shops, eateries and accommodation. A must visit is the sheep and ducks outside the woollen mill. Seeing ducks being herded by a sheep dog is brilliant. The nearby Dukes Pass, and Queen Elizabeth Forest Park was brilliant for scenery, walks of all abilities, and nature. Go Ape with the zip slides etc is also available for the more adventurous. A really beautiful area and well worth a visit.

Aberfoyle is a beautiful little village.
Aberfoyle is a beautiful little village. You must visit Maggie’s Kitchen. Delicious, traditionally made sweet treats and baked goods.
The wool place is really interesting and fun too. Make sure you visit the little wool hut out the front to get wool and woollen goods made from wool off the sheep just outside the door!
We didn’t visit any of the cafes or pubs as we were following a specific eating plan.. but they all looked fabulous.
Just a lovely part of the world.

We all hated the visit at MacDonald Foresthill's Hotel Aberfeldy. After arriving late evening we checked out the following morning. Hated the Lodge (Spiders and cobweb on balcony and bedrooms), Hotel and resort require extensive upgrade. No internet in lodge, hotel and resort. Would not recommend this place to anyone I know.

We stayed in Aberfoyle at a campsite on the way and hotel on the way back. It was a pleasent village with a sheepdog show if you can catch it at the wool centre. I was disappointed that the wool centre didn't contain wool for crafting but wool products.
The post office was helpful and we had some nice cups of tea and great meal in the forth.
Easy to get around and a large central car park.

Simply stunning location, Hotel delightfully furnished and proprietors very welcoming and whilst very busy took the time to talk to their guests. The restaurant dining and panoramic views were well worth the trip to this wonderful location. A real gem in the Trossachs…feel sure we will return, especially for the in house smoked salmon, when travelling through this truly beautiful part of Scotland.
The hotel is placed in the most beautiful location. The gardens around the hotel are very well looked after.
We stayed at The Rowans apartment - very specious, slightly dated but clean. Kitchen was very well equipped.
Friendly staff made us feel welcome, good central location for travel, room clean, tidy and comfortable and a great shower. We agreed we definitely stay in this hotel again.
The location was stunning! Room was lovely! Spa facilities were fine, although really didn't match the rest of the hotel, was more leisure centre than spa!
