Aberfeldy is on the River Tay and set in beautiful countryside. There are outdoor things to do- farm trips, walks by the river or The Birds of Aberfeldy. In March the roads around are quiet and the views and countryside is so wonderful . For me The Watermill is one of the best individual bookshops anywhere and it has its own wonderful coffee shop. I want to go back .

Very pleasant area of Perthshire - plenty activities, walking, cycling and watersports etc. Not far from Kenmore, Killin, Dunkeld which are all worth a visit. Dochart Falls worth a stop on the way to Killin.
Not a huge amount in Aberfeldy itself, but a good centre. For an evening meal we would recommend the Inn on the Tay at Grandtully which is only 10-15 minutes away - the food and service was excellent, and there's outdoor seating for sunny days, pretty much on the banks of the Tay.

We visit Aberfeldy every year and find it an excellent location to base ourselves and can travel around the area. It has a lovely town centre with a variety of shops and good selection of eating places. It is easy to walk to places and the highlight for those keen on walking is the Birks of Aberfeldy with stunning views.
The Watermill in the centre of the town is a beautiful building and now a book store with cafe and well worth a visit.
There is a cinema too in town with a cafe.
It is easy to drive to Kenmore, Pitlochry and Blair Atholl when based in Aberfeldy.
Karelia House is a craft store selling fabric and wool with a small cafe and based between Kenmore and Aberfeldy and worth a trip if you like sewing/knitting.

Near Aberfeldy is Grandtully with great views of the river. There is the highland chocolatier shop here too which has a lovely gift shop, a cafe and of course a selection of delicious chocolates.
The Townhouse in Aberfeldy is a great place to stay and eat. Also visited the Waterfront restaurant in Kenmore which was excellent.

Aberfeldy is a nice, small town.
Aberfeldy is a nice, small town. There are plenty of places to eat (good meals for our taste) and there was plenty of choice including an Iranian/Mediterranean cuisine restaurant and a good Italian one.
There is also a wonderful Bookshop (The Watermill) with a very nice cafe attached.
There is a great variety of attractions to visit in the area - wonderful scenery and woodlands for instance. Also a swimming in the local Community Hub/school.
One particularly good (and famous) local attraction is The Birks of Aberfeldy. There are also so many places of interest to visit, a little further afield. People here appear friendly and helpful. One particular mention to be made, is of schoolchildren who offered to help immediately, after I (Janet) had fallen in the town.

Aberfeldy is a small city and is easily walkable.
Aberfeldy is a small city and is easily walkable. We got our lunch to go from the local co-op and sat on a bench next to the river to eat. It's springtime and daffodils are in bloom everywhere. There is an excellent bakery and a good Indian restaurant (Chillies) in town.

We had to get a change of room because there was only which was so high I could not get into it. There advert says you get £20 voucher which I thought was for dinner but it was for breakfast and we don't eat breakfast. You had to pay£25 each for dinner regardless of what you eat and I would only have a starter so I wasn't paying that we had to walk to Aberfeldy for something to eat. I asked about using the swimming pool but could not get times only time was 11am on Saturday morning and we were leaving at 10am. The receptionists were very little help. The advert says each room bets a bottle of wine but there was no wine in our room.I certainly would not recommend it to anyone and I will be wary of booking anything through Booking.com again.
Great location. Close to shops, pubs and restaurants. One minute from the River Tay. Ten mins from Loch Tay. Hotel is spotless and modern. We got the superior room. It was massive. Other rooms were large too.
Owner and staff are very friendly. The owner ran me back up to the loch to get my car after we kayaked from the Loch down to the hotel. 1st time we'd been on a river. Was a lot of fun. Some rapids at the start. Was a little scary for a 1st timer. Then pretty smooth the rest of the way. Nearly 6 miles.
Had a great one night stay here last month. The best bit though was the breakfast, all freshly cooked using local ingredients. Parking was fine as there's a side street just around the corner. The only downside to Aberfeldy was when we left the pub at 10.30pm there wasn't anywhere open to get anything to eat (the restaurant in the hotel was full) so we feasted on the biscuits in the room, looking foward to our breakfast the following day which didn't disappoint.
We had a lovely spacious and bright hotel room. The bathroom was enormous and had a bath and separate shower cubicle. The beds were very comfortable. Loved having a swim before breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was amazing. Brilliant choice of hot & cold food with plenty of toast and coffee or tea. Beautiful grounds to have a walk in and not too far from Aberfeldy.
Location was perfect. Beautiful village with plenty to do and easy to drive to lots of wonderful places nearby. The cottage was lovely. Lots of amenities and very comfortable. Walking distance to local shops and some beautiful walks. Check in was easy (we collected keys from the hotel literally across the road). The man was very helpful, pleasant and friendly. All in all we were very happy with our stay.
Absolutely lovely spot. It had everything I needed and was close to everything but tucked back so it was quiet. The outdoor seating area by the burn was a special treat in the mornings. The flat was modern and comfortable and impeccably clean. A little tricky to find at first as it is around the far side of the building, but the friendly locals helped me out.
The cottage was in a great location to explore Aberfeldy and the surrounding area. There are lots of shops a restaurants within walking distance.
The cottage was very clean and looked exactly like the photos. The host left us a lovely welcome package of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits which was much appreciated after our day of traveling.
Beautiful Lodge with everything you need for your stay. Very comfortable beds, hairdryer, cooking facilities. Hot tub was so lovely and very much appreciated after a day biking in the hills. Lots of things to do nearby. Well stocked co-op in Aberfeldy and plenty of good restaurants to eat at both in the village and a little further afield too.
This is a charming upmarket guest house/hotel in a stunning location, based on a very nice restaurant. Facilities were inevitably slightly curtailed due to Covid-19 restrictions (e.g. lounge not open), but we enjoyed everything about our stay. The staff were, without exception, delightful, friendly and efficient.
We were made to feel special, with my daughter's fussy eating resulting in a special breakfast for her. The staff were attentive and the small dining room gave a very personalised feeling.
The hotel is on the main road through to Aberfeldy, but is set well back in the farm leading to a quiet and relaxed feel.
This wee little pod has it all! It is very cosy, warm (underfloor heating!). Good bed, good shower, surprisingly complete kitchen. The hot tub is an amazing treat after a day of exploring the hills around Aberfeldy.
The views are superb, and waking up to the sounds of sheep and lambs is fantastic.
We had a fabulous holiday at the lodge, everything was great.
The area is wonderful, very refreshing to be in the middle of nature. Plenty of snow and fun for the kids, the pool table is an excellent idea.
Robert was very helpful, professional and responsive.
Thank you for everything.
Breakfast was terrific with plenty of tasty options and fast attentive service. Staff were great and were on hand at all times to deal with matters. Location is exceptional, we explored a wide area around and about. Bar itself was pleasant enough place for a drink later in the day.
Located in centre of Aberfeldy's main street. Plenty parking across the road, behind co-op. Great local pub for meals.
Flat was clean, comfortable, spacious, and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. This is our second stay here, and will definitely be back. Dog friendly.
The room was exceptional with very comfortable bed, nice sitting area, and charming hill view from the windows. Breakfast and dinner were both very good. Great location to walk around town. All the staff was very attentive and friendly. Very much enjoyed our stay!
Not a fancy place but location was great right in the center and it was clean and tidy good value for money. We were near the top of hotel rooms 11 and 12 really peaceful we did’nt hear a thing no passing traffic. Beautiful walk right opposite hotel along the river.
Good location, just out of Aberfeldy, but walking distance. Walks alongside River Tay. Pleasant walk to Castle Menzies - but unfortunately no dogs allowed in castle - nearby woods very pleasant but quite steep. Aberfeldy Birks is a good walking work-out.
The staff were so friendly, attentive and helpful and were able to tell us about the local area with much enthusiasm. Beautiful room with fabulous view. Loved this hotel and the town of Aberfeldy.
beautiful location, convenient dining option within the hotel, friendly host, sitting area within the room, breakfast included with the room, modern bathroom
