The room was small (urban area), my pants were soaked from arriving in the rain. I found myself wishing the room had clothes hangers for pants so they could dry. And I found pant clothes hangers in the room. Then I found myself wishing for an extra pillow and blanket and I found these things in the room. The accommodations very thoughtfully provided everything we needed. Breakfast was wonderful (although thank goodness we were one of the first arrivals because the room became very loud and very busy with all the travel tours). We asked if we could leave our luggage while we visited Versailles and they accommodated this. When we came back from visiting Versailles we brought food purchased nearby and were so tired and asked if we could sit at the breakfast tables to eat and they let us. We interacted with 2 different employees and both were so pleasant and friendly and helpful and kind.
We welcome you in a friendly and family atmosphere! Our mission is to make you spend precious moments in our company, we offer you a warm place to make you feel at home.

The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. Near to train station and palace. The room had a big terrace.

I have been twice before over the years, It's a very expensive suburb of Paris now and an interesting town which revolves around the Chateau. The Chateau is a place you must visit once in your life at least, and allow a full day or more as the grounds are huge. It's a commercial tourist trap, long queues and not enough people selling tickets though all staff are very friendly and helpful. I would have bought online but couldn't fathom the headset guide, you could add it then it disappeared at checkout. Turns out you can't and don't need to pre-order, they are available after ticket check at a desk in the entrance, no queue. You can buy tickets from Tourist Information (they have an allocation) to beat the queues. Don't take a very expensive tour, the audio gives the same information and there are plenty of signs to stop you getting lost. Fantastic place but more or less just a portrait gallery and heaven for lovers of architecture. Just stand there and wonder at the scale, opulence and grandeur of the place. Not much catering, just essentials but the catering staff will refill a water bottle for you free if you ask nicely (a bit of French is handy). Be prepared to get your elbows out as although access is limited there are a lot of people inside, be prepared to wait for pictures and be tolerant of the bored and ignorant being dragged around! Book one of the local hotels, we used the Ibis, a 5 minute walk and used a restaurant on Rue de Satory which has a good selection and just outside the gates.

Fantastic trip.
Fantastic trip. It had been on my bucket list for a long time and did not disappoint. Mercure hôtel exceptionally welcoming. Excellent breakfast.
Would definitely recommend.
The palace is of course the main reason to go to Versailles but I don’t advise visiting the inside on a Sunday. It was packed to the rafters and at time uncomfortably so.
But hey ho! I loved it all. Enjoy your trip…

Versailles is not a welcoming place for visitors.
Versailles is not a welcoming place for visitors. No taxi service, The train tour of the palace is a rip off. They make you stand in the hot sun while the entire crew of drivers take a long break for lunch. If you get off there is a long wait time before you can get a spot on another train. Large tour groups block passage to many exhibits. Signage throughout the gardens and some displays is very poor and non existent in many places. A real disappointment. The hotel staff and restaurants were all good and made our time spent with them very enjoyable.

Versaille is an excellent base for a stay in Paris away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, there was a great selection of local restaurants and a good evening vibe over the weekend.
We especially enjoyed visiting the local market which is open most days and felt it was a very safe area to wander around during the evening so ideal for lone travellers unsure where to stay in Paris. We also took the local RER train into central Paris which was easy to use and reasonably priced with a journey time of approx 40 mins, looking forward to returning to the area in the near future.

Beautiful town!
Beautiful town!
If you are visiting the palace I recommend hiring one of the golf buggies to see the gardens, you need your driving licence with you, €38/hour and €9.50 per extra 10 mins. We took our time going round, stopped at a few places for fresh squeezed orange juice (they have little carts at various locations) and paid a total of €57 which we felt was good value, everyone felt it was a real highlight, having the independence, and you also have a guide talking to you as you go round on a recording in the vehicle.
The host made our stay! He is like a personal tour guide, showing us books and maps and telling us how to prioritize our time at Chateau Versailles, plus he knew our next destination and recommended what to do there! He is so lovely, really warm and charming. The hotel is operating-room clean. The other reviews spoke of how clean the hotel is and I thought it was funny, isn't that a given? This place is REALLY gleaming. Great location near the train, the chateau and restaurants. We had a lovely time.
Great location, walking distance to the Palace, restaurants and the train station. Breakfast was very good with more options than what you typically see. Sam at the front desk was very pleasant and extremely helpful. He provided step by step directions on getting around on the trains with multiple transfers. We didn't have any problem getting to our destination in Paris, and back. Parking our large SUV at the hotel was easy. Overall a great stay!
The staff welcomed us Ann gave us a tour of the apartment. She went out of her way to explain to us the operation of the tv remotes. It was our problem and she came to re-explain things to us. Again it was user error on our part. Also, she lent us her own umbrella when we needed one because of the rain. It was ideally situated being 3 blocks from the train station and a 7-8 minute walk to The Palace of Versailles.
We always stay here when we visit Versailles. I have probably stayed at least ten times over the years. The property has always been a favorite for several reasons: perfect location, you can walk everywhere; great parking; very friendly and helpful staff; great breakfast. this time, our luggage didn’t arrive in Paris with us. it was delivered the following day and the staff put it right away in our room.
This beautiful hotel is located close to the palace and Chateau de Versailles. The staff were very accommodating. I could leave my luggage at the front desk until check-in/out, and when I told the night staff my plug didn't work, he went straight out to collect a new one so I could have a bath. The breakfast host was very attentive during our meal and made good coffee.
The fourth-floor superior room with balcony was quiet, clean and big enough for a short stay. The bed was very comfortable. We would have liked to see bottled water delivered. Breakfast was top-notch. Dinner menu was very good, prepared of quality products although options were not that many. The hotel is within walking distance to Chateau Versailles.
The location was very nice. It is close to one of the entrances to the Versailles Palace.
The underground parking was spacious enough and relatively easy to access.
The double extended sofa bed was good for the kids (9yo &6yo).
The room was well cleaned.
The hotel was in general well maintained.
location was excellent only 15 minutes walk to Versailles. parking was very good, right outside the hotel. breakfast was good and the tables outside under the trees were very welcome in the heat of the afternoon to have a sit down and a coffee. For a town centre hotel it was very good.
An excellent location situated approximately 20mins walk (a very pleasant walk too) from the Palace of Versailles. Within 10mins of the hotel, there are a wide range of restaurants to choose from and a great market nearby. The staff were lovely and the rooms are clean.
Everything! The location is really first class, to stroll out the front door and visit the Palace of Versailles was fantastic. The hotel is also exceptional, staff, restaurants, room were perfect. We felt very well looked after. Definitely stay here again.
It is a typical IBIS hotel but it is at the right place for the palace. The hotel is just oposite the train station so getting to Paris is super easy and quick. Rooms are OK for two people. Location is excellent as it near the restaurants and the bars.
Everything was fantastic! Clean, spacious room with fast Wi-Fi. Staff were extremely friendly and the hotel has limited, underground parking spaces for 20€/day. Location was superb, 5 minute walk to the Versailles Palace entrance.
Great location! Only a few steps away from the Palace of Versailles gate and an easy 5 min walk to train station to take you into Paris. Tons of places to eat at nearby.
Host was very kind and accommodating.
Well located, clean and comfortable. Nicely recently decorated, cozy bed and well appointed kitchen. Minutes from Versailles, Paris metro and 30 minute walk to train. Lovely and well priced
Nicely decorated and spacious room just a short walk from the entrance to the Palace of Versailles and from the train station to central Paris. Parking on site for a reasonable price.
Okay this hotel was a bit tired by hey we are in the middle of Versailles, the parking was good and we could walk to the main event - the palace. The hotel was easy access.
Hotel in general was clean. Breakfast was very nice. Plenty of choice. Close proximity to the palace, Versailles was nice to walk round plenty of nice food and drinks.
