Tours is a nice walkable city. The 'old town' is picturesque and the more modern side has lots of shops. Lots of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from. There are lots of tourist attractions including gthe cathedral of course. Also there is a large tourist office with helpful staff to help organise day trips to Chateaus etc. Transport links are very good with a station close to the city centre.

Beautiful cathedrals and a charming city centre, spread out along the Loire river. The trams and busses are easy enough to figure out. The brochures describe the 'gastronomic' experience that awaits, but that must apparently be researched and booked in advance. Strolling around the old medieval streets without a booking, we found more kebab shops and bars than gourmet restaurants, but perhaps we were in the wrong place.

Tours is a fantastic vibrant town with lots of shops, restaurants and bars. It was our second visit and we’ll definitely be back.
We stayed at Castel Fleuri which is a ten minute walk away and is exceptionally good.
The staff are very welcoming and provided us with a map of Tours which was great.
I would not hesitate to recommend Tours as an overnight stop to break your journey or for a longer stay to explore and enjoy.

Tours was a wonderful city with a lively night life, historic sites and lots of high quality wine and food at every turn. There was very little car traffic in many parts of the old city, so walking around, is great. I’d love to go back and explore more.

I choose Tours as a base camp for exxploring the Loire valley up and down by train and bike. This did work out, just beware of the train schedule. It is very sparse except on weekends. Tours itself turned out to be more attractive than I had expected.
this is on par with 5 star luxury hotels. the room is massive, spotless, gorgeous decor and wonderful linens, the location is central, and there is nothing that could be improved. great for solo travelers or couples. what a value, she could charge twice the price and it would still be a steal. I am serious when I say that you could just visit this b&b and it alone would be a fabulous experience.
This hotel was an excellent surprise, the best hotel in our holiday tour. Everything was perfect, the private parking, the huge room (and bathroom), the friendly staff giving excellent advice, the great breakfast. I don't know a lot of things about hotel labels, but there is no way this is a 2-stars hotel, it is better than any 3-stars hotel I know and even better than a few 4-stars I visited.
After a long drive across France this hotel is a good choice for an overnight stop on route for the afternoon ferry back to the UK. The staff all spoke English and were very accommodating. The room was comfortable. The evening meal was excellent. The best we had had during our stay in France. The indoor pool and sauna an added bonus.

The hosts Cyril & David were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast has an amazing selection. The place itself is very welcoming, clean and with a stylish decoration. The location is perfect in the downtown center of Tours. Few minutes 30 min car ride to the castle of Chenonceaux! We will come back!
The hotel is in an excellent location enabling easy access to the Old Quarter, cathedral etc. It was surprisingly easy to drive to with sat-nav from north or south. No problem with parking. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are excellent! The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.

Brand (or seemingly) new hotel, well positioned near the heart of Tours; easy access for riverside strolls along the Loire (or the guinguette for a beer) on one side and the city core (shopping, cafes, etc) to the other. Staff very friendly, and room had nice view.
4th time i've stayed here - good location, quiet and comfortable. Secure parking (extra charge), good breakfasts, small bar in hotel and several places to eat nearby, or directly next to the tram stop to the centre of Tours. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
We loved the owners! They were so welcoming and helpful with maps and ideas of how to best use our time. it was so close to the trolley directly into the main area of Tours but was still private and peaceful! we also loved the homemade jams and yogurt!!!
Its location is the best of all, just in front of the train station and 20 minutes walking from the center of Tours. We picked up the cheapest room, in the 1st floor, and it was smaller than I thought. Overall it is worth it for the price.
