The hotel which used to be an abbey, along with the decor is beautiful, it’s very original and well thought out, we loved the spacious room and the bathroom! Very luxurious room, comfy bed, facilities and amenities. Breakfast picnic basket was super and they went out of their way when we had a special request. We look forward to coming back in the Summer and enjoying more of the facilities!

Lovely terrace, good beds including sofa-bed, nice kitchen.
Pretty town....very walkable. The fosse Dionne was incredible and worth the visit. The Hotel Dieu and notre Dame are worthy of spending time as is the incredible Chevalier D'eon museum. We had the luxury of staying here and I wish it had been longer as Phillippe Luyt (a descendant of the Chevalier) runs the place and can take you through the museum...alas, he has only a little english and moi only a little French. The people of this town were delightful and friendly and the food wonderful.

the place was quiet but enough to entertain us for a couple of days. Couple of restaurants and bars. It was a very good base for cycling to nyores and Chablis. Great bit of history with the water spring. People are very friendly even with our poor french they helped us out as much as possible. Good wine recommendations
L'abbaye is absolutely charming, the surroundings and the small village of Tonnerre are beautiful. We very much appreciated how well this place full of history was being kept and taken care of. Our room exceeded our expectations and the breakfast basket in front of the door was a great idea. The breakfast was one of the nicest we had in France and the fact that you could have a picnic in the terrace and enjoy the view while having breakfast was a nice surprise. All in all, I highly recommended this place and we will definitely come back.
The owners were not expecting us but rallied round and quickly prepared a delicious meal which was most welcome.
The property is truly incredible. The conversion from ancient abbey to modern hotel has been carried out with great expertise.
In the morning a lovely basket of breakfast items were outside our door.
Everyone we met were delightful.
We are looking forward to a longer stay in the future.

We loved everything about this place! It was exceptionally clean, quiet and comfortable. The host and his wife were lovely and super hospitable. Tonnerre is a sleepy little town, so if you like a peaceful atmosphere it's a perfect base for trips in the area. We both wished we could stay there longer - it was such a perfect stay!
A good location in Tonnerre. The farm is an ancient building with lovely and interesting refurbishment. We stayed in the Astronomy room, with photos of scientists in the lounge. Breakfast was a good continental with excellent choices for tea. The owners recommended restaurants and sites to visit.
Lovely characterful room with aircon/heating and super clean bathroom. Nice fluffy towels! Comfortable bed and really quiet location. Great view onto the church. Owner was really friendly and breakfast was good. A great place to stay for exploring Tonnerre.
Great location for our journey from Switzerland to Calais. The hotel is lovely, quirky and welcoming . Comfortable clean room. Breakfast delivered in a hamper to the door which we ate outside in the morning sunshine.
Good hotel at the center of Tonnerre, friendly staff and good breakfast. Parking available just across the street or 2 minutes walk away. If you can't find a place in Chablis, it's only 15-minute drive to there.
