The hotel was perfectly located for the velodrome stadium. It took approximately 25 minutes to walk there. The staff were very friendly and it was useful to have the option to park, although this was extra. Considering we stayed on a match day the price for our stay wasn't too bad. Overall, the hotel was perfect for our one night stay.

The room was just big enough to walk around in without tripping over luggage. There was also a small desk. Young woman at the front desk was nice. Walkable from train station. You can walk downhill a short way and catch the tram if you’re too tired to walk to the port. I had a partial ocean view from my room.

Founded by the Phocaeans in 600 B.C., the long history of Marseille has produced an interesting and dynamic port-side city bursting with cultural diversity. Watch the fishermen sell their catch by auction at Vieux Harbor or cruise along the Corniche roads with views of the Calanques, dramatic rocky inlets to the sea.
The le Cours Julien and la Plaine areas provide a trendy hangout and every Thursday and Saturday morning, the Plaine market offers its various wares. This is the area to buy a novel from a hip bookshop or watch your kids on one of the playgrounds. There are also plentiful cafes to sip a cappuccino and watch the world go by.
If a culture packed vacation is on the agenda, the Musée d'Archéologie Méditerranéenne, Notre Dame de la Garde and Palais Longchamp won’t disappoint. The unique Unité d'Habitation, designed by famous architect Le Corbusier, contains everything from a shopping street to housing and has spectacular views of the terracotta landscape that makes Marseille so distinctive.

We weren't impressed with the city; unfortunately, many places are neglected and dirty, with a significant number of people sleeping on the streets. We felt rather unsafe. The landmarks are impressive; however, the overall surroundings are not as charming.

Marseille is a beautiful city, if a little scruffy and rundown. It is fairly easy to get around although the main station is difficult to access. Most places are walkable but I would recommend using the Tourist train to access the Notre Dame de la Garde.
There are some stunning modern museums but several were partially closed whilst I was there. I would particularly recommend the Cosquer museum with its stunning recreation of the Cosquer cave and its 30,000 year old art. (Tip - buy an advance ticket or turn up early to avoid queuing).
There are plenty of restaurants and bars lining the Old Port, with seafood an obvious mainstay - the bouillabaisse is excellent!

Marseille is a wonderful French city with many sights and history. It is good to visit the main churches, the palace and the museums in it - Notre Dame de la Garde, Marseille Cathedral, Palais Longchamp, . There are many well-preserved architectural monuments, the old town, the natural history museum, the port, etc. Around the harbor there are many restaurants, some of which you can come across wonderful fish delicacies, such as Bouillabaisse and others.
The city cannot boast of enviable cleanliness, as well as the discipline of motor vehicle drivers and pedestrians.

Great city with lots of interesting areas.
Great city with lots of interesting areas. Although it felt 'edgy' with a lot of (often attractive) graffiti etc, it felt safe. People were kind and polite. It certainly did not live up to its dangerous, seedy, rough reputation. It is cultured, artistic and friendly. Great food and a large variety of unique quarters. We will be back.

Good and interesting place. Went down-hill over the decades.
Good and interesting place. Went down-hill over the decades. Visited with kids, good and friendly Arab community in the streets, keeping up the small business and the city alive. Teargas shot every 10 min while we were cris crossing the downtown area. Business goes on and continues, while street battles are fought. Train station full of junkies. Good place for kids to learn about the real world. Maybe too real. Restaurants are no longer affordable if you don't drive a Lamborghini. Forget getting any good food if you have no reservation. La Boheme is gone.
Location was exactly what we needed. We arrived at Marseille airport in Vitrolles after 11pm. We were able to catch one of the local shuttles to Saint Charles Railway Station --the shuttles run well into the night and are way less expensive than the unlicensed taxis outside the airport terminal. Once we arrived at St.Charles station, it only took us 5 minutes or less to walk to the hotel in spite of the heavy luggage. Location was the main advantage for us, but the facilities and breakfast were good, too, and personnel was helpful.
I had a great stay at Les Appartements du Vieux Port. The studio was very clean and has everything you need. it has a private entrance through the building and is located on the second floor, only one flight of stairs up. It’s conveniently located in walking distance to the marina, many shops and train station. I really felt like home. The staff at the check in desk is also very friendly and helpful. Jeanne and one other gentleman were super nice and welcoming! I would definitely stay there again in my next trip to Marseille.
Upon arrival, the staff was extremely nice and professional. I was really impressed. Since I have to stay in Marseille a week per month, I'll definitely come back. The hotel was clean. It was a little difficult to talk to the cleaning ladies as they didn't speak French but they were nice. Alexandre and Manon have been amazing. The hotel was pretty quiet despite the fact that it's right next to the highway. Also, being diabetic, I needed lots of ice and they gave me plenty of ice cubes which is not very common in France.
Spotlessly clean with two comfortable beds and spacious living room plus kitchen. This was a nice place to get over jet lag at the start of our trip to France. The bus stop to get around Marseille was just a few blocks away, as was an Auchan for food. Charlene was a great hostess, waiting a half hour for us as we got lost getting there.
She then wrote out a long email with explicit directions to help us get around town. Marseille was beautiful and we hope to come back someday. We would definitely stay here again.
The Staff are lovely and the Housekeeping is excellent. Reception gave us local advice, sold us bus tickets, organised a taxi and, generally, made us feel very welcome. Well done, the whole Team.
The hotel couldn't be in a better position for a visit to Marseille. It's one street away from the quayside of the Vieux Port and only yards from the Metro/ buses/taxes.The air-conditioning was silent, efficient and extremely welcome , the linen and towels are good and we appreciated the hospitality tray.
In a quiet road right off the Vieux Port, only 50 meters from the boat to Ile D'If or Frouille (only 8.3 euro per person for families) and Marseille's best gelato place (Morino's) and Chinese restaurant (Le Mandarin or Shanghai Kitchen across the road, depending on your taste).
Smart 65" (or possibly larger) Samsung TV with not only YouTube for the kids but also working Amazon Prime, Netflix and Disney+ (with a choice of accounts from previous visitors).
The hotel is new and central close to the Vieux Port and the tourist area of Marseille. Nice welcome from the receptionist.
Perfect for a few nights. The room was comfortable and very nicely decorated with a Large bed. A great bathroom with many towels and robes and a spacious shower.
Perfect WIFI - The breakfast is included but we didn't have the time to enjoy it.
Would be back for a night or 2 - not for a long sejour.
The hotel is right downtown in a street with restaurant and shops, about 5 min from the Vieux Port and many other attractions. Excellent location, attentive staff, clean and cozy, and a little reading room with free coffee, tea, cappuccino all day long! I liked my stay very much, and from my little balcony I could look down on the people hanging out in cafés and wandering on the boulevard. Formidable!
I chose the hotel mainly for the central location. I knew that I will be out also during the night and Marseille is not the safest place in France. Let's start with the positive things:
Staff was friendly, internet wifi was working well and the best thing was the breakfast. I was quite surprised that they even offered fresh pressed orange juice. The choice was really good for the level of the hotel!
It was a very spacious apartment- well equipped for a 5 day stay. We loved the quiet little bedroom balcony with a view of the Basilica of Notre Dame. It was a 20 minute walk downhill to the Vieux Port. We enjoyed having a great bakery, pizzeria, fruit market and wine store so close by! There was a bus stop within a block but we didn’t use.
booked as we knew we would arrive in Marseille late at night, 24 hour reception and close to the airport bus drop off by the train station. location a bit seedy but hotel was a god send. really friendly receptionist, small (as booked) but very cosy room, comfy bed, good nights sleep, well worth what we paid!
Very centrally located next to Vieux Port of Marseille. Martin the owner went above & beyond in providing me with simple instructions with train lines and bus timetable for forward journey to Cassis. He greets you at the apartment which is a lovely touch as I didn’t arrive till 8pm after a long day
Location to station and vieux port are good, and kitchen facilities help as eating out in Marseille can get pricey especially near the port.
It was good to have the flexibility to cook in the apartment but also go out for a meal as lots of restaurants are nearby (walking distance)
Man thanks to the very friendly and helpful staff!
The hotel is very near to Gare Saint Charles of Marseille and the station of the bus to the airport.
The room to courtyard was quite.
Breakfast was good.
The room incl. bathroom was very clean.
Value for money is top.
location, room was decent size and clean, enjoyed balcony and view of the Vieux port (although busy and noisy outside, the room had great soundproofing), excellent staff( in particular the night auditor, he was extremely friendly and helpful).
Room was comfortable and spacious, everything I needed. Temperature was just right which is a nice change as normally I find hotel rooms too warm.
Breakfast was great
Restaurant food tasty
Views on Vieux Port amazing
Everything, the location was perfect- a few minutes from the Vieux Port, away from the noise. The apartment is gorgeous, with a tasteful decor and very well thought out. I have found the perfect stay in Marseille!
PERFECT LOCATION - at the bottom of the stairs of Marseille Train station and 15 minutes on foot from Vieux Port.
A bit run down but clean and quiet.
Staff was super friendly!
Fantastic hotel, great staff. Perfect location for a tour au vieux port. If you're visiting Marseille, think of no other hotel, while there could be minor improvements.
