Villa Rentola, hotel in Koskenkylä

This 5-bedroom cottage is less than 30 minutes’ drive from the town of Saarijärvi and about 300 metres from the fly fishing area of Heijostenkoski.

We especially enjoyed spending time outdoors, the house was big enough to accommodate 2 families. And the kitchen was full equipped to make full meals.

Situated on Lake Karanka, this log-cabin cottage is 20 minutes’ drive from Karstula village centre. It provides free use of a row boat, as well as a BBQ hut and private terrace.

The location right at at the lake was definitely awesome and the 3 boats available made it even better. The beds were very comfortable, the surrounding forests were really quiet and great to collect berries or mushrooms! The nearby island of Summassaari is a very beautiful place to visit!

Lomakoivulehto, hotel in Koskenkylä

Situated in Koskenkylä, Lomakoivulehto offers accommodation with seating area. This beachfront property offers access to a patio.

We had the pleasure of spending two nights at the enchanting Cottage A. The staff were the epitome of hospitality and fairness, particularly when we faced an unforeseen emergency. Our little one, not yet two years old, accidentally broke a coffee pot and cut his hand. We had to leave hastily without tidying up, but the understanding staff made us feel at ease. We were immensely grateful for the comprehensive first-aid kit that allowed us to dress the wound quickly. The charming kitchen window framed a stunning view of the tranquil lakeside, an aesthetic feature of the cottage's backyard. The beach was a haven for the children with a gentle, sandy gradient extending for the first ten meters. This provided a safe and enjoyable spot for even our youngest ones. We relished the refreshing morning dips and the exhilarating evening swims from the sauna – a ritual we delighted in on several occasions. Our ventures on the lake with the readily available rowboat added to the array of unforgettable experiences. The backyard also boasted a traditional wooden BBQ hut and a grill, catering to different preferences with one designed for coal and the other for wood. We spent both nights feasting on mouth-watering grilled delights prepared outdoors, easily feeding our group of eight. Overall, the cottage was impressively equipped, and every moment spent there was filled with joy and excitement. We are already eagerly anticipating our return next year!

The lake was beautiful and the sandy beach great even for our toddler. The cabin was surrounded by nice forest and we even got to pick some fresh bluberries from the property. There was lots of space to spread out even with a larger family. We only had five adults and a child present. It was very peaceful and quiet. The village of Koskenkylä is a remote but beautiful with some farms and vacation homes and cabins.
