The place is a little bit off downtown but Kitee is a small charming town that everything is close by, so is not a big deal.

Seems basic on the face of it but the facilities are really quite good. though the beds are quite old they are comfortable. The guest kitchen has everything you would need to cook a meal for a full family ! The host is a very charming lady who with very little English still manages to remain courteous and kind. I felt very welcome here

Karjalan Helmi is a wonderful and peaceful family business that rents out several cottages of various sizes. The owner is very friendly and supportive.
The cottage I stayed in was clean and had all amenities I could think of (even a dishwasher and an ironing board). I highly enjoyed the fireplace and sauna.
This Bed & Breakfast is located in Kitee, just 500 metres from Lake Hyypii and 1 km from Lake Kiteenjärvi, and offers a communal sauna, BBQ facilities and a shared kitchen.

The owner was very helpful to arrange that we could arrive smoothly at very late hours, Our stay was short, but we enjoyed the clean rooms and the breakfast, especially the traditional freshly baked Karelian pies and porridge.

From the moment I arrive the staff could not have been any more helpful. They were perfect. The hotel is not new, but it is clean and well maintained. The attached bar/restaurant is very good and the food was excellent.
