The room had a large comfy bed that felt like sleeping on a cloud. Shower and toilet were separated, which is an additional bonus. The parking was right next to the building (could see the car from the room windows) and it was very convenient when moving the luggage. Tasty and diverse food at the breakfast was enough for everyone, despite quite many people at the rush hour. In the evening, we enjoyed our dinner at the restaurant inside the hotel area. Overall, the hotel is very nicely arranged, so that breakfast, restaurants, swimming area, bowling etc. are all located under one roof.

This is an amazing place.
This is an amazing place. Acomodation was simply great for families with children and even couple or group of friends. Host was extremely helpful and very responsive to help and guide. House was very neat and tidy and best of all just few meters away from lake, view was breathtaking. Recommend friends and family.

The best in Imatra are the wonderful sand beaches and the lakes. It is EASY to get there if you have a car. The best place to eat is the Buttenhoff restaurant in the center. We also had a lunch in a nice restaurant/ Café Sula right next to the river Vuoksi. Unfortunately Imatra is suffering from lack of tourists and many shops in the center are empty, if people could put their art /photos on the windows the center would be nicer. The waterfall was a powerfull attraction especially in the evening. I would go next time again to the very special Veteran museum opposite the Valtionhotelli .

There will be an Imatra rapids show (Imatran koskinäytös) till end of August, starting 18.00 everyday for some 20 minutes water discharge from the dam. Some music serenades the show. However, beware of those annoying mosquitoes and bring repellents!

This is a wonderful place with Finland spirit - authentic, meditational and strong! I need it at least twice a year - to recharge by batteries, and to get the energy to live in speedy Moscow! We will be back shortly!!

I love Imatra very much.
I love Imatra very much. Visit it almost every year because it is not far from my home town. However it is not only locality but also its nature, clean air, scenery, good food and peaceful atmosphere that attracts me a lot.
We stayed in mid-September and pretty much had the whole hostel at our disposal :D
We really enjoyed how cozy the beds were, the quietness of the place, as well as the nice common area, which had a big TV and a kitchen with all you'd need to cook there.
Everything was clean and in good condition. Also, the hostel is perfectly located, nearby the rapids of Imatra, and with a pretty good Chinese restaurant on the ground floor of the building.
Great place, definitely worth the money!
The property is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. We stayed in larger house with our 2 children, 10 and 16 years old, and it was a perfect fit for us. You can both enjoy nature - there is a lake close by, and plenty of trails in the forest - as well as civilization. There is a hotel at the other side of the road, with SPA, bowling and byciles rental, as well as a nice restaraunt on the lake. Imatra town is at 5 min ride and has many stores and other facilities.
We expected little but got more: staff was genuinely trying be hospitable and make us comfortable, breakfast was clearly trying to mach the big breakfast buffets of finer hotels and was very satisfying and though the customers of the pub downstairs seemed a little too drunk, in the end they caused us no disturbance and our rooms were quiet. We would definitely visit this hotel again!
Lovely building. Great contrast between the old and new buildings. We stayed in both parts of the hotel. Usual high standard associated with the Scandic chain, although this is more difficult to achieve given the age of the castle building. Reception staff very helpful. Breakfast great with huge selection.
Modern hotel with easy access and perfect staff. Good wifi covers all hotel spaces. Sauna 1h for women and 1h for men. Good and complete breakfast. And very good extra goods in the room like vanity kit, earplugs, shoe spoon, etc. Thanks to everybody in this hotel!
A very spacious living room with the fireplace, large windows and forest views. It's great that there was a clothes dryer in the apartment. The kitchen was well equipped. The spa, cross-country ski area and nature trail are within a walking distance.

i will suggest more varieties to the menu and not just finnish oriented dishes.
Bed was great. And if you have travelled in Asia and slept in the ***** hotels you can get the same feeling from the bed sheets here as well. Really liked the feeling.

Usually trip is a bit stressful. That's why it's important to have a friendly staff at hotels. The owner of this apartment is just wonderful. She is responsive and responsible. Highly recommended! P.S. wifi is free 🙂
