As good as a five star hotel but so much cheaper. In a very central location. Room was large with excellent shower plus a mini bar. A free bottle of water was a nice touch.

As a would be writer, wifi is critical for us, and hotels are only booked if they have fully working wifi guaranteed.
We’d been touring northern Spain, staying in a multitude of hotels - from two to three star – and never experienced anything but robust wifi in every hotel.
At the Silken Monumental Naranco the wifi in our room was non-existent.
What makes this worse is that a traveller reported the issue back in 2023 - and the hotel’s apparently failed to do anything about the issue.
To achieve four star status, wifi must be available in every room. There's the facility to log-in, which we accomplished on two laptops and two iPhones, but logging on to the net – or accessing mail – proved impossible.
After wasting a couple of hours, getting absolutely nowhere, I went down to reception - where the wifi signal and web access proved to be just about perfect.
Complaints to the reception desk resulted in a call from an external ‘techie' – but as the issue was patently the strength of signal in the rooms – this proved futile.
Our only option was to work in the reception area - just not acceptable.
The earlier TripAdvisor reviewer stayed on floor 5, we were on floor 6 - so I’m guessing the issue is pervasive throughout the hotel.
It’s a real shame, because the staff were very friendly and welcoming – and the very good and reasonably priced restaurant meals came as a huge surprise – but the total lack of wifi really did spoil our stay.
If the wifi issue had been addressed, as it should have been several years ago, the hotel would have been perfect for us.

Met at reception by bi-lingual staff. they helped with check-in and advice on what food/restaurants were good close by. The location was great being in the centre and classic part of Oviedo close to the Cathedral and the starting point for the Camino Primativo.
