I suppose, asusual the old adage is true: you get what you pay for! This place certainly is cheap in comparison to other places in the area that appear to offer similar facilities. I was left the key for a room which appeared very spartan: just two beds and two chairs and no bedding to speak of but at least it had a sunny western outlook and I could have put up with it because of that. I went off and on my return Angela, who looks after the place, was there and explained there had been an error and my room was behind, as the first room had a plumbing problem.
The new room had a view over the car park and some sort of structure in it (rubbish/electricity or something) and the whole outlook looked messy and unkempt. The room was very cluttered with two single beds and a large double width bunk and two upright chairs - not even a table or a desk!
Angela herself was very friendly and most polite. The internet worked perfectly adequately.
Breakfast was chaotic. Angela appeared to have made a pot of coffee the night before which I suppose I was meant to heat up, but I had difficulty keeping the gas stove alight. There was an assortment of breads etc on the counters and a fridge which had various things in it, but there was no way of telling what had been bought for general consumption and what belonged to other guests. Therefore I had just a roll and butter, not wishing to purloin someone else's provisions. I was particularly sensitive to this as there was and English lady staying there, who lives in the Algarve, and she had quite a few things in the fridge. Perhaps Angela should mark which shelves she keeps provisioned for general use and those areas that guests should use for their own food.
A positive was that being in Spain, I drove off to the nearest small town and found petrol nearly 20c a litre less than in Portugal and a Dia supermarket with all sorts of delicasies that I hadn't come across before.
