The hosts are a lovely family that ensured I had everything I needed to have a great stay. They opened this business few months ago and it is obvious that they put love in it.
I totally recommend it, the village is surrounded by nice nature and there are hikes around to do. Locals are also very welcoming.

For a Hostal the attention to detail in the room, patio area, information provided by the owner is excellent. eg For the ladies a sachet with a makeup remover , usb connections beside the bed, a music sound system remotely controlled and a top quality tv. Bathroom beautifully designed. Had a choice of a few cafe/bars all within 5 minutes or less for breakfast ( you present a voucher to the cafe).
Hostal Medina is located in Olvera, within the natural setting of the Sierra de Cádiz Mountains. The bus station and the Via Verde de la Sierra Route are a few metres away.

Beautiful tiled interior. Nice lady at check in. This is a family home as well as a hostal. Room was spacious, I slept well in the comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water. Small balcony overlooking the street. Nice bar next door. My bicycle was stored downstairs securely.

This is a small guest-house. It is well run and the host is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area. Common area kitchen worked fine. There is also a common sitting / eating area.
Be aware that this is very basic accommodation, but it is clean, safe, friendly. I give it 10 out of 10 in it's class.
Alcala del Valle is NOT like it's neighbour Setinel- if you are ready for a break, then this could be a great option. And if you are walking, the dirt road from Setinel to Alcala is very picturesque (and the track to Olvera even better!)

It was only a 1night stopover for us heading to Portugal but house was very spacious and clean.
Bars in walking distance. Owner very friendly
Tip would be when you see Barney Rubble turn right to a more open space with about 3 Road options.... 2nd left is to the garage at the back of the house. Much easier than driving to the front of the house through the town.
To park turn around and face up the road.... better angle to reverse in.
