Really traditional hotel in a delightful village. The owner was really helpful & a delicious rustic evening meal miraculously appeared for a party of 6 on Sunday night when every other restaurant was closed.

A authentic little hotel with friendly staff. I was travelling back to Belgium after visiting my father in the south of Spain and needed a quite place to stay. Hotel Doña Sancha is not expensive for what you get! I was provided with a very clean and cosy room with a balcony and a modern bathroom with walk-in rainshower. A 300m walk to the town centre for drinks and an evening meal was relaxing and a great break from a long drive. Also an extra bonus is the minibar with cooled refreshments :-) The breakfast was lovely and also not expensive.

This hotel is located in the main square in Covarrubias. The view from the window was charming, yet very noisy at night (there was noise from the bars/restaurants dowstairs until midnight). The room was clean and Sonia, the lady at the bar/restaurant, was incredibly attentive and helpful. She was a great asset to the hotel.

This is a very small town dominated by the monastery.
This is a very small town dominated by the monastery.
It is a lovely town with old buildings and narrow streets which are lovely to wander around.
We visited in the middle of September and at no time did it seem very busy.
We visited the monastery . It has lovely cloisters and some interesting artefacts.
There are some great walks locally and the roads are super for cycling, being in good condition without much traffic.
el desfiladero La Yecla , with it's resident vultures, is worth a visit. We walked there from the town but if you want to visit in a car it has a large car park.
There is a lot of publicity given to the Sad Hill Cemetery and you can walk or drive there from the town. Be warned that the road is mainly loose gravel and much of it passes through an area where a fire destroyed the trees in 2022. We walked to the Mirador, which has great views ,but didn't get to the cemetery itself.
The roman ruins at Clunia are well worth a visit as is the beautiful small town of Covarrubias.

A lovely old village centred around the monastery where in the evening it's possible to visit free to hear the monks partake in Gregorian chants, etc. Nice area for a stroll up the hill above the monastery where the views over the village are stunning.
Although the hotel restaurant is very good there is also a choice of several other restaurants and bars within the immediate area of the hotel.

I could not eat at the hotel because no one spoke either english or french so i could not make them understand what a vegan diet means, this hotel is very rural and even though clients come from all over europe and further afield, they make no effort to be internationally minded.
I thought the room was nice, plenty of choice on the tv, the pool was small but often not enough sunbeds at peak times.
Location is fantastic and our room had a view of the monastery which we visited. The cloisters at the monastery are brilliant. The hotel was quite traditional but with modern bathroom. Had a lovely evening meal there and breakfast (which was included ) was really good.
Lovely hotel full of character, very clean. Private parking to the rear. Staff friendly.
Good base to visit Sad hill cemetery, the dirt road is fine for road motorcycles just take it steady.
