A beautiful hilltop cortijo with incredible views for miles across olive groves and a lovely swimming pool (which was crucial in baking hot August days).
We loved the sense of tranquility - you barely hear a noise, apart from the odd cockerel crowing from from the valley. We also loved the sense of space, both in the cortijo and grounds itself and the surrounding countryside.
There’s a lovely large terrace, too, in front of all the apartments, where we enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners.

Everything. From the moment we arrived I was in love with the property. Everything was just perfect. Every detail was thought of so carefully and very tastefully done. It was hands down one of the most beautiful places I ever stayed and I have travelled lots. Anything you needed, it was there. The owners were wonderful and very friendly too.

It was a good base for exploring many of the local walking trails. We also drove to Cordoba which was interesting. Our visit to Rute in early December was at a time when many restaurants were shut.
The Sugar Museum was worth a visit.

Attractive Spanish townhouses when viewed from street level. Difficult to walk around the narrow, steeply sloping streets with very narrow pavements which can be hazardous when wet (especially if you are elderly). Basic standards for cafes and restaurants. Limited provisions for supermarkets. English speaking virtually non-existent.
Fine central location. Prompt excellent management for check-in. Secure property, modern interior, well organised and clean. Kitchen with breakfast area and all necessary electric cooking and dish washing appliances. Good separate lounge and dining room. Spacious bedroom with excellent large double bed with firm matress that ensured a good night's sleep. Ample clothes and luggage storage space. Can be fully recommended for small to large families as comfortable base to explore Rute and surroundings with ease.
A lovely flat in central Rute, very clean and comfy. The owner and her daughter met us to hand over keys but they made this very easy for us. The balcony has lovely views and lots of sunshine and the flat has everything you need for a stay and is very modern, If we are in the area again we would definitely stay again. Underfloor heating was a bonus for winter stays.
Amazing hosts , booked for two days , whilst house hunting in the area , liked it so much , we booked another 2 days , lovely pool , fantastic views & just over 5 minutes drive from Rute ❤️ Such a stunning place to stay , will definitely visit again 👍
Very beautiful location in the heart of the Sierra de Rute. Homes decorated with a lot of taste in the Andalusian style, inside and ourside (superb garden with a lot of plants). Very clean and very friendly owner.
