This family run hotel took us in during Covid when we were desperate, so we were thrilled to go back and thanks them. Obviously, everything much nicer this time. Incredible location, with view from window of Lake and mountains, and superb meal in restaurant.

Amazing flat!! The pictures do not do justice. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of them with hydromassage shower which was great before going to bed :) Living room has amazing mountain and lake views. Everything was new, modern and very clean. Cristina was an amazing host. You cannot find a better place in this beautiful village. Wonderful place!!!!

The accomodation is so clean. The village is lovely. We had dinner at the hotel and it was lovely. Bike friendly and we could store them safely.

The property was everything we needed for our two night stay. The check-in was smooth with good communication even though we arrived after 8pm. The room was very clean, comfortable bed and breakfast had a wide a lovely selection including freshly cooked eggs and bacon. Overall I would highly recommend if you are looking for accomodation in the area.
Offering views of the mountains, El Invernal de Picos is set in Portilla de la Reina in the Picos de Europa Regional Park and offers a good starting point for the Cares Trail.

Quiet and peaceful surroundings. Rossana was an excellent host (and very happy to meet Ares too). The perfect place to bring our dog.
Relatively easy access to Cares trail starting at Cain. Plenty of great walks close to town as well.
Plan your trip and make the most out of it. It’s a beautiful location to start your mountain adventure . There are only two Spar shops, but there are many restaurants and a petrol station. You can also enjoy different aquatic amenities such as kayaking. People in Riaño are very friendly and warm.

The fjords of León!!! A beautiful place. It is a quaint town full of activities to do and people to chat with. Everyone is friendly and caring. The place is lush and I definitely want to go back in winter to see the snow all over

Ria itself sits in the heart of some of the best biking roads in the region, the town is very limited in what it offers above this and the locals all seem devoid of any desire to interact with visitors and on the face of it, quite miserable.

Beautiful scenery for miles and miles.
Beautiful scenery for miles and miles. Riaño has plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants with space to eat in or out, and a small Spa shop is well stocked and fair priced for those who want to cook for themselves. The lake offers watersports, the roads lead up into spectacular mountain scenery, a couple of churches, museum and various monuments attest to the history of the locality.

This is a "new town" created after the valley was flooded to make the reservoir which we hadn't realised when we booked. We were here in early October and it felt very empty. There seem to be very few people living there. A lot of the properties seem to be empty and are probably holiday homes so it's fine for a night but no more. The views of the mountains are spectacular though so well worth a visit.

Riano is in a fantastic location with outstanding views. Unfortunately it is a totally new town, with little soul and even fewer facilities. We were there in late September and struggled to find a restaurant open in the evening and ended up in a bar where I was served with a Pizza that smelt of urine. We left and went hungry as the waiter in our hotel was rude so we refused to eat there too.
The hotel is located right at the main street in Riaño, the rare facing the river and a church square. You cannot dream of a better location! There is a public parking and a plenty of it in front of the hotel, and a restaurant at the back, facing the square. The rooms are very cozy and with great views. Breakfast wasn't included but you can have it at the restaurant below and there are some other restaurants and bars on the same street. The hotel also accepts pets.

We have stayed here several times, twice this year (June 2023), it a quirk lovely place, part hotel, part pub.
We met up again with the Rumanian waiter who really does make the stay special, we hope the owners value him as much as we do. Our room had stunning view of the lake & mountains, if a little damp that day.
The drive over the San Gloria Pass to Potes is a must do thing. Enjoy !!

Beautiful appartment in a very attractive part of Spain. View on the lake from one of the rooms. Spacious, perfect for 4 people. Riaño is an amazing place and it seems still undiscovered as it was quiet and not crowded with tourists.
The hotel is a gem. The staff were always so friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional and very tasty. The village is compact and all needs catered for. There are some really lovely walks in a stunningly beautiful area.

The location is amazing - view of the lake and mountains was spectacular. The hotel itself is very charming with lots of local history/traditions represented in the decor and architecture.
Nice hotel and good location. Comfortable bed. I stayed 3 nights, pleasant hiking and good moto riding from the hotel. They let motos park down below in the garage.
Location was super, Riaño was a great place to stay while visiting Picos de Europa. Breakfast in the hotel was very nice. Staff in the hotel were nice.
