Location is the main thing for me. I’m driving through Spain to reach one of the ferry ports. This hotel is on the edge of town and you can literally see the A1 from it, it that close. However you don’t get any no8se and I always get a good nights sleep. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. There is a restaurant on site and the evening meals are very good. It’s great to have a casual drink in the bar after a long days driving. Get up to a nice breakfast and your about 2 hours from Santander and 11/2 hours from Bilbao. If you want it’s just a short walk into the lovely town of Lerma and that’s worth a visit.

Parador de Lerma is a striking 17th-century palace converted into a unique hotel. It has a popular restaurant with a wide range of traditional regional dishes with modern touches.

Excellent breakfast. Atmospheric lounge to relax. Location is a small village which is lovely but not a lot to do. We therefore went to Burgos - 25 mins away- which was a lovely city to visit.

Breakfast was excellent. The lost property service was able to recover my enormous hat which was surprisingly difficult. I couldn’t understand why it was a problem.

The property forms part of the town wall so our room had a view out over the adjacent countryside. It was beautifully decorated and furnished. The staff were friendly and served us a beautiful traditional Spanish breakfast.

A very historic yet comfortable hotel right in the middle of town.

La Hacienda de mi Señor is located in Lerma, just off the A-1 Motorway and 20 minutes’ drive from Burgos. It has a charming lounge housed in the former wine cellar.

Very helpful staff particularly when it came to finding somewhere safe to keep my bicycle overnight. The hotel was delightful with a lot of old world charm and breakfast was good. The location too was excellent.

Great location for the town and close to the main town square for parking (free). The hotel is one of the very few modern building in the town and is a very clean and functional budget hotel. Breakfast is basic but well served.
