The room was spacious as we had a spa tub suite. The staff very nice. The bath tub was great! There was an issue and we had to postpone our stay by a day and have them hold our backpacks till we arrived. They did this which was amazing.

The hotel was nice- the room was good, and they had a tub, which was great after a long day on the Camino. I did not eat at the restaurant- but breakfast was adequate

The staff were so very kind! I was such for 2 days with a terrible cold and they took very good care of me. They brought me meals and left them outside my door. They found my lost hiking pole and made sure it got to my next location too!

I loved the City it was clean and well maintained.
I loved the City it was clean and well maintained. I got lost and a kind Spanish man helped me get back on the Camino.
This man walked with me for 4 kilometres until we found the Camino TRAIL.
Ponferrada the City should mark the Camino trail better than they have. Even signage within the city saying “Camino that way. A few other city residents did not have a clue on how to get back to the Camino. The Knights Templar Castle was a sight to see.

Wonderful Temple knights history, well described during castle visit. Impressive past and great attraction on Camino de Santiago for the thousands of Pilgrims now walking or cycling. An important part of old Spanish history.

We loved staying in the middle of the Old Town with the Castle just 5 minutes' walk away. People were friendly and there are lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The drives into the nearby towns and mountains were fabulous. Perfect weather this time of year and not too many tourists. A great place to stop for the many Pilgrims on the Camino trail.
This was the perfect place for us to stay after a long day of travel, ending with a late evening train arrival in Ponferrada from Madrid. It was within easy walking distance from the train station (even with backpacks and wheelie luggage). A completely charming hotel with fabulous staff and clean, comfortable rooms. It was also within easy walking distance to shop at the Decathlon store for last minute Camino needs (hiking poles, rain gear, etc.). Beautiful, well-maintained property!
On the Camino Frances, close to its junction with the Camino de Invierno and the Castillo de Ponferrada, this modern 3-star hotel is popular with walkers. My room was spacious, quiet and comfortable, as was the bathroom, and (thank God!) air conditioned. I stayed on a Sunday, when the dining room was shut, but there are lots of good restaurants close by, mainly in and around Plaza Virgen de la Encina. Reception staff were on the ball and spoke English. I appreciated the lift!
We stayed in one of the private apartments on the top floors and it was amazing. Brand sparkling new, brilliant kitchen and bathroom and the comfiest of beds. After the horrendous climb down to Ponferrada on the Camino - I wish I had stayed 2 nights to rest and recover -especially knowing I could cook my own food, which after a few weeks of walking the Camino - would have involved many vegetables!
top notch amenities, full kitchen, the most comfortable bed- bottle of wine and Waldo was personable and attentive to my needs. spectacular views from the terrace. Had a lift and wonderful electronic phone / key system to get you into the building without a key. I would 1000 times stay here again. Highly recommend- and free Netflix! spectacular née HOTEL. I loved it for my rest day on the Camino.
The apartment was easy to find. It’s located 1/2 block off the Camino and a 10 minute walk to the plazas and Castillo of Ponferrada. Great location. There is plenty of parking on the street if you have a car.
All amenities including a well equipped kitchen plus a washing machine. It was super clean. Our host was very welcoming.
Good location close to the old city center, very nice staff, nice superior room. Very nice breakfast service organised for the COVID rules. Very comfortable bed. Private parking house for just 11 EUR. Everything that you would expect from the 4 star hotel was there.
The room was as expected. Stuff very nice and the location it's perfect, places to eat dinner and breakfast nearby. The hotel contact us to give us instructions how to enter after the hour on the check in and was very clear. Recommended for short stays!
it’s very nice and charming hotel excellent location for me near my son house clean .The employees were very helpful with me specially Naomi and Sandra from the front desk and I appreciate theme very much
Good location central in Ponferrada. Check in quick and easy. The room and bathroom are fine, however they are old and pretty tatty. A lot of renovations and maintenance need to be done on the hotel.
The view of the Ponferrada castle walls from our balcony was lovely, with green hills beyond and view beneath of passing pilgrims and people. The stone walls and room decor was pleasing.
