This functional hotel, refurbished in 2004, is situated in the city centre from where you can thoroughly enjoy the attractions and monuments Murcia has to offer.
the hotel was situated in a good place in the city.
Located in the Huerta plain and surrounded by mountains, Murcia is the capital of its namesake region and a famous producer of vegetables. This picturesque city adorned in Baroque masterpieces like the Cathedral still enjoys a peaceful, local atmosphere.
Founded in 825 by the Moorish Caliph of Cordoba in the centre of the Segura River valley, the city planners created an irrigation system that inaugurated the agricultural prosperity of the region. The Old Town -showing some of the Moorish legacy- is situated along the river banks, and its main streets Platería and Trapería have been pedestrianized for easy walking access. The centre of Murcia offers accommodation ranging from 5-star hotels to low-cost pensions.
Famous city festivities include the Holy Week, the Spring Festival, and the folkloric ‘Bando de la Huerta’. If visiting Spain and Murcia during these dates, check the hotel availability with enough time in advance. The beaches of the ‘Costa Cálida’ can be reached in less than 40 minutes’ drive. Hotels between Murcia and the beach are the best way to enjoy both the city and the sea.
Murcia-San Javier Airport is 51 km away, while Alicante Airport is 73 km away. Check out the deals on Booking.com before travelling!

Murcia is almost dead south of the river, apart from the rail station. North of the river, the area around the Cathedral and that around the Plaza de las Flores are both busy and lively. There is no shortage of bars and restaurants in either area. The area between Gran Via and the Cathedral is full of quaint streets and alleyways, with bars and boutiques. Via Alfonso X is a lovely pedestrianised walk, with striking historical buildings. There is also a more bohemian area with a younger vibe, around the Mercado de Correos. The river has some lovely walks and views. Just south of the Plaza Circular is a large shopping area, with the usual suspects!

Don’t go during the spring festival unless you like getting drunk. The streets were a disgrace, beer and urine all over. I applaud the work of the street cleaners as the next day it was lovely. We were able to get a coffee and food where we wanted, and the monuments were open. The casino and cathedral were especially good.

Nothing really interesting to see, the historical center is very small. Maybe could be a good base to visit the surroundings, but you definitely need a car.
There is no bus service from the airport, and the taxi costs 29 euro fixed rate.
Great for food and the climate though.

A very pleasant city without many tourists.
A very pleasant city without many tourists. The central part of the city is pedestrian and thus without much noise. The city is overall clean and safe day and night. Life in this part of Spain is outdoor and many streets and plazas are in reality outdoor restaurants or living rooms. Price level in Murcia is fair and quality-price ratio is good. Do not hesitate to follow suggestions from waiters regarding food and beverages. Not everybody can speak English and even a small knowledge to Spanish will be useful.
We booked a 2-hour guided walking tour via the tourist office and it gave us a good introduction to the city (10 Euro/person). We stayed for 4 nights in a centrally located hotel and this was an ideal lenght for a visit unless you make some excurisions out of the city.
There is a hourly direct bus (ALSA) from Alicante Airport to Murcia (55 minutes and 6 euro/person). The railway connects Murcia and Alicante city.

Long weekend so didn't see everything.
Long weekend so didn't see everything. Easy to get to from Alicante airport, good looking and busy town, lots of restaurants and shops, not too busy with traffic. Easy to walk, cycle. Great marathon.
It actually deserves the 4star rating unlike most that have it in Spain. Very clean, comfortable, spacious and with pleasant modern decor. The spa bath is great and there is no shortage of hot water. The queen suite is a really perfect choice for a romantic break or if you just prefer higher quality accomodation than the average.
Tips: plenty of free street parking available nearby + supermarkets and gasolineras where you can get snacks. And if you want something fun to do, look up El Desafio del Lobo, 10mins drive away
The contact person David was willing to help and assist at all times. Offered a substitute flat for a time when some minor technical issues were solved (didn't need it in the end). The apartment is fully equipped (microwave, cooking plates, kettle, fridge, toaster). The AC was functioning OK, we used it to heat the place (in February a necessity even in Spain). The position of the apartment is excellent, easy to reach many parts of the city easily.
Modern hotel approximately a half hour walk from the centre of Murcia. Off street underground parking is available at request on site. The hotel is located on a main route into the city and the neighbourhood is a little bit like 'suburbia'. Nevertheless, it's really convenient coming by car and probably easiest to just walk in from there. The room was modern and comfortable. Good breakfast with a wide selection.
We only stayed for one night on our way somewhere else, but it was definitely worth it. We often stay at Sercotel Hoteles so we were not disappointed. The lady at the reception was really friendly and gave us a lot of information so our short stay. The location could not be better as it is close to everything you need to see. We walked around the area and also the bold part of town within minutes.
This hotel is modern, clean and conveniently located for visiting Murcia. The room was good size and the bathroom was well equipped. The breakfast buffet was better than I had expected, with good quality and lots of choices. The parking was nearby and protected.
The apartment is nice and tidy, well decorated and perfect facilities. In the city centre but quite and safe, easily access to the daily needs. And the host is quite nice. reply quickly and help us a lot. I’ll recommend this appartement when in Murcia
Breakfast is good.
The location is far but need to make transportation arrangements. In Murcia taxi drivers ask for huge money to drop airport which is very painful.
The hotel must arrange its own airport transport.
It was luxurious and there is an awesome bar for the evening! Also, the pool area is wonderful with the comfiest towels included. The breakfast is definitely the best one we had during our road trip in Spain.
Everything was there and working. So for one or two nights while visiting Murcia it's a good place to stay. The hotel is not really in the old town, but within walking distance.
Excellent hotel in the center of Murcia near restaurants and main streets in the old town. Large rooms and bathroom, clean, very comfortable bed, generous breakfast.
The Zenit is in a good location in Murcia. Rooms are nicely furnished in a standard hotel design. Nice atmosphere and comfortable especially for the price.
The rooms were very big and bathroom had double sink in it. The staff were very nice and the pool was definitely a big bonus as it was very hot in Murcia.
