Location was perfect directly on the Camino Frances in the center of town The owner, although we had a communication barrier, couldn’t have been more hospitable. The room was well appointed with tasteful decor. Bathroom had everything we needed.
The owners tienda which you had to walk through to get to the hotel, was well supplied for fellow Camino pilgrims.
Breakfast was self-serve and more than adequate. The owner spent time training us in the use of the coffee machine, panini press, microwave, juicer, and making sure lights were not left on.
Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, Hostal Casa San Nicolas offers pet-friendly accommodations in Molinaseca, 3.7 mi from Ponferrada. Some units have views of the mountains or garden.

Loved the location. Enjoyed spending time on the outdoor deck to rest weary feet at the end of long Camino hike over the mountain. Jose and Mara are wonderful hosts that focus a lot on your needs. Really enjoyed the breakfast the next day and engaging conversation with Jose. Highly recommend.

Wonderful place to stay! I was so happy I chose this place. The hosts were kind, made you feel welcomed. The dinner and breakfast was so good. Met new friends because of this gathering.
You could tell the owners were so proud of this wonderful place! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Molinaseca is a lively town. A lot of excellent restaurants, bars and hostels. Mountains and a river surround it. Through a nice track, 3 km away, there are two Roman bridges. It's nice for a morning walk. I saw 2 deers this morning.

Molinseca is a very beautiful town. Full of character.
Molinseca is a very beautiful town. Full of character. Some of the restaurants/ cafes were on the Riverside which was great. The locals were swimming in the river when I was there. I was happy I stayed there.
Alejandro is an exceptional host. Arriving later than anticipated from the Camino walk from Rabanal, my family were a little concerned. Alejandro was in contact with my daughter until I arrived. He even then organised for my dirty laundry to be washed and dried. Further on leaving next day, I had left my power plug in the wall. I was quite prepared to buy another, but Alejandro personally delivered it to my hotel in Ponferrada. Alejandro offers 5 star service.

If I could give people hiking the Camino just one piece of advice it would be STAY HERE! It is the absolute perfect place to stay after the Cruz de Ferrro. Don't continue onward to Ponferrada with the crowd. Stop here at this tremendous little piece of heaven instead. The hospitality was tremendous. Beautifully decorated, cozy rooms. The dinner, a Brazilian feast, was out of this world. The breakfast was the absolute best I had on the entire Camino.
A quaint town with black hearts filled with greed. I’m 2021, we loved this tiny historic town at the base of a grueling yet intriguing descent from Foncebadón. There’s a river to lay in and ice weary bodies or minimize swelling, but the owner here runs the shop, hotel and restaurant, so apparently he doesn’t have time for customer service. He was so threatening to me and we were traveling with teenage daughters, we could hardly sleep, so afraid.
The hotel had a rustic vibe and charm with exposed stone throughout, however, it was very much 21st century, with tech and finishes.
Also, the hotel occupied a great location being at the far end of the town on the path of the Camino. It allowed you to walk through the Main Street observing shops, restaurants & bars, before finally arriving at what can only be described as a little of oasis of rest & tranquility!
A wonderful, peaceful and very comfortable stay on the main street of Molinaseca. It was perfect after a long day on the Camino. The bed was incredibly comfortable; the bathroom was modern with a fantastic shower and ample, good quality toiletries. Ana was so warm and welcoming. I would love to stay here again and again.
The welcoming of the staff was amazing. Molinaseca is a beautiful village and was worth staying there for a night, especially in this albergue for pilgrims. The rooms are specious, the garden is nice and has an outside kitchen where you can enjoy the summer vibe. Perfect and would gladly stay again.
Lovely, small hotel in a picturesque location with a lovely view of the river in the old town. Secure location to store our bikes. Friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance to bars and restaurants. Great choice on the Camino and good value for money.
The hotel staff was very kind, accommodating, and attentive to our needs. Our kids loved playing in the trees and garden behind the hotel! Located along the Camino de Santiago, the village of Molineseca was very charming and had lots of street life.
Great location in Molinaseca! Comfortable single bed in a dorm room with shared bathroom. Bathrooms and bunkroom were clean. Nice common room as well. Only wish the restaurant had been open the night I was here! Great place to stay in Molinaseca!
Very nice old building that had been tastefully converted into a hotel. Right in the center of the old town on the Camino, near restaurants and coffee houses. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Very comfortable, plenty of towels and hot water, very kind staff, perfect work table and chair to get some work finished in the room, nice restaurant across the street—not connected to hotel
Fantastic welcome and tour from Jose. Hostel is modern and has fantastic facilities. Our laundry was done in no time and we even got a great map and recommendations for Molinaseca
This hostel was a good value. well located in the Central part of Molinaseca. The staff was very friendly. There is a kitchen for those who want to cook their own meals.
The room was nice and the shower had good water pressure. The owner also runs the supermarket downstairs and he's a good guy. The hotel is on the Camino.
