URH Ciutat de Mataró, hotel in Mataró

URH Ciutat de Mataró is a 12-minute walk from Mataró's marina, on Catalunya’s Maresme Coast. It has a fitness centre. All rooms at the URH Ciutat de Mataró have parquet floors and pale wood furniture....

One of the notable negative aspects of my stay at URH Ciutat de Mataró was the unpleasant odors coming from the bathrooms. Here are some details regarding this issue: 1.Unpleasant Smell There was a persistent unpleasant smell emanating from the bathroom, which significantly impacted my overall experience in the room. This odor was quite bothersome and made me feel uncomfortable. 2. Poor Ventilation It seems that the bathrooms lacked proper ventilation, contributing to the accumulation of odors. There should have been better solutions in place, such as stronger exhaust fans or ventilation openings. 3. Sanitation Issues The source of the odor could likely be traced back to a lack of attention to the cleanliness of the plumbing systems. It was clear that better maintenance was needed to prevent odor buildup. 4. Impact on Stay The bathroom smell negatively affected my comfort during my stay, making me hesitant to use the bathroom at times. This is unacceptable in any hotel. Conclusion Overall, the bathroom odors were a significant factor that made my stay at URH Ciutat de Mataró less than satisfactory. I hope this issue will be addressed to ensure a better experience for future guests.

Mataro is a fantastic beach town any time of the year.

Mataro is a fantastic beach town any time of the year. I would highly recommend a restaurant called Dem Dik. It is very close to the train station and Ousmane, the chef and owner, is fantastic. His good is great - super flavorful- and he attracts an interesting mix of people from all over. Fun snd laid back place for all ages:

It is a small city nearby the Barcelona or Sant Pol de Mar. The city center is nice, full of restaurants. I miss the street food a little bit. The life starts here around 7 AM. The city is full of playgrounds, it is good for families with children. We appreciate that. Beaches are beautiful and empty. Not so many tourists here as in Barcelona. Peaceful city. Also there is a swimming pool in the city with the small one for the little ones.

expect a siesta! :-) from approx. 2 to 7:00 p.m., almost all restaurants and shops are closed. Life here starts around 19:00. It was more difficult with small children, when they go to bed at 8 in the evening and are used to having dinner at 5:30 pm ;) But the city center is very nice, food is super tasty. Communication is mainly in Spanish.

Lovely area just outside of BCN, access to BCN is easy via a 40min bus OR 35min train journey. Train station in Mataro with the train running up and down the coast. Plenty of places to eat/drink on and off the beach. Not man shops, mostly boutiques however there is a large shopping mall 1hr walk (nice easy walk) OR a easy bus journey. This is my second visit here with work & I enjoy the area. Plenty of breakfast/coffee shops & places to work. Lovely long walk along the beach on a nice path

Mataro is one of those little towns, through Mediterraneo, its access from and to the airport from R1 - transferred to R2 you can do it in a good time planned and reliable when you need to catch a plane in Terminal One. The access to check-in is straight to terminal 2 need an internal bus to T1. Mataro is a lovely town a good place to eat and shop and easy to connect to Barcelona, In all, a good place to visit.

A very uniqe way to stay, compared to a hotel room. Enjoying the evenings sitting outside on the boat is absolutely great! Lex is a very cool guy who is easy to talk to and will do what he can to meet your requirements and answer your questions! Oh and by the way. You should definitely check out Dolce Vita, an Italian restaurant in the port. There were also a lot of fish activity right next to the boat, cool entertainment in and on itself. Added a photo of it.

Friendly staff, simple yet satisfactory breakfast, quite a nice location close to the sea, close to a supermarket and other things you need. So long as you just sleep at the hotel and eat breakfast there but then go out it should be a nice experience. However, definitely not 4 stars.

It was OK but it is not and was not a proper hotel - youth hostel would be more appropriate.
