Holiday Inn Express Málaga Airport, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Málaga

Holiday Inn Express Málaga is the closest hotel to Málaga International Airport. It offers free parking and modern rooms with satellite TV and free tea and coffee facilities.

Booked it since it is close to the airport, and I had to return rented car (last stay on my journey). Very spacious room and bathroom, decent breakfast. Have a free outdoor parking. It is easier to take the Uber to the airport, only 5€ more compared to the bus ticket.

Ibis Malaga Centro Ciudad, hotel in Málaga

The Ibis Malaga Centro Ciudad is situated next to Malaga Cathedral and just 5 minutes’ from the Picasso Museum. It offers modern rooms with free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and air conditioning.

Location is right at the edge of the city centre so you can easily walk to all the sights, the harbour and the beach. The room was a bit small and basic but exactly as you would expect from an Ibis hotel. It was clean and comfy. We chose this hotel as it had parking right underneath the hotel for a reasonable fee. And the rate was low. Breakfast for a good price, nothing fancy.

FAQs about hotels in Málaga

The Colourful Soul of the Costa del Sol

The birthplace of Picasso is as colourful as an artist’s palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and you’ll find your place amongst the youthful square of the old centre, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.

There’'s also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.

A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga’s most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 10 km from the centre of town.

From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you’re sure to find the perfect accommodation for your sunny holiday.

Liked most the port area and market type shops there and bars and the views. Beach is a nice option in a city. Plenty of historic things to see. Car and fashion museum very good. Liked least that restaurants extremely meat oriented. Even tapas ones. Very few options if any for vegan/ vegetarian if you don’t eat dairy products.

Beautiful city, especially for a long weekend. Mixture of fun and culture and it even has a beach on the other side of the harbour. Fabulous city for singles, couples and families - lots to do. Most places are easy to walk to. There were quite a few hen/stag events, but the noise got lost in the hubbub of the place, so it did not worry us.

Great location, near to old town, 10 min to Mercadona, 20 to the beach. You feel safe there Stylish and clean apartment. The bed is extra comfortable! Wifi inside apartment is good, I had video calls, it was stable and without any problems The terrace is amazing! Even considering that you need go out from apartment to enter to the terrace, still it was great, with nice view. And without view on you, as in many Malaga's apartment There is everything you need: towels, cleaning things (if you staying for a long time), all kitchen staff

The hotel is in a nice area of Malaga close to the beach with a lot of facilties around. The old town of Malaga can be reached without any problems. If you like to walk it’s a good 25-30 walk. Other that that uber would cost you 3-4 euros. I think the bus stop is close to the place as well. I have stayed in Malaga few times and this place so far is the best one . If you don’t like much noise from the traffic and want to be by the beach, then definitely book this place. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean.

The hotel is central to the shopping and old town of Malaga, 10 minutes from railway station and 20 minutes from airport, both by taxi. The reception, bar and restaurant staff were wonderful, with a special treat waiting in our room when we got back to it at night. I think the room we had may have been an upgrade as it was on the Essence floor (5) and the room was one of the best we have stayed in. Probably exaggerating a little but the bed was as big as a football pitch.

The house was really great. It was more than well equipped with everything you could even think of. The rooms and the beds were better than in the luxury hotels. It is easy to park on the streets for free and it is safe. Nice area. The check-out is at 12 which is really nice. I liked also the decoration with the paintings which were original, not a reproduction. Definitely will come back when in Malaga. Thanks for everything and for the taking care of our friend.
