Hotel Madrid Río, hotel in Madrid

Madrid Río is the closest hotel to the Caja Mágica Tennis Centre, by the River Manzanares. It offers easy access to the M-30 and M-40 Motorways, secure parking and free WiFi.

This is a classic hotel that still has some charm and is reasonably renovated. The staff are friendly and the room itself is good. The bathroom is especially nicely renovated. It was also nice to have a small balcony. The metro stations weren't too far away to get to the many interest points in Madrid, and locally there were some very good international food options - a lot from Latin American countries.

FAQs about hotels in Madrid

The Spanish Soul of Art and Entertainment

Modern Madrid is one of the greenest cities in Europe and the most popular destination in Spain. Whether you want to experience its legendary nightlife or a flamenco show, this is the place to be.

The renowned Museo del Prado holds one of the world’s finest art collections with iconic paintings by El Greco, Velázquez and Goya. For more modern touch, the Museo Reina Sofia houses Picasso’s and Dali’s most respected works.

Start your evening at Puerta del Sol, one of the city’s busiest spots. Make some room in your stomach for great tapas and sangria in La Latina district, south of the city’s most famous plaza, Plaza Mayor.

Real Madrid plays at Santiago Bernabeu and Atlético Madrid competes at Vicente Calderón Stadium, two opportunities that no sports fan will want to miss. The popular Salamanca district is a great place to look for boutique gifts and unique shops.

Thanks to great public transportation system, getting to the city centre from Madrid Barajas International Airport is very easy. Whether you’re looking for luxury hotels, budget hostels or comfy apartments, Booking.com has a perfect place for your Madrid holiday.

Visited Pardo, Reina Sophia and America museum and the Arts Academy, really great museums, some of them have text only in Spanish but not a problem now with a translate app. Also lot of people even in tourist places and shops and restaurants only speak Spanish so great if you want to learn Spanish. The city is full of restaurants, and people like to go out for a drink or a dinner a lot. Very nice city with friendly people everywhere.

If you're a football fan, be sure to visit the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Even if you're not a Real Madrid fan, I’m sure you’ll appreciate the club’s history. I recommend touring the Royal Palace with a guide but keep in mind that it gets very crowded. Among the famous three art museums, I mostly recommend the Reina Sofia. We focused more on sightseeing in Madrid and, to be honest, didn’t have any particularly special or outstanding meals.

Transport system in the city was excellent, cost of living very reasonable and lots to see and do. The restaurants in the La Latina barrio were excellent as far as price and variety were concerned. The ‘Big Bus’ bus trip was excellent and the Guide, Jocelyn, was so informative and friendly.

Madrid, Spain’s vibrant capital, is a city that blends rich...

Madrid, Spain’s vibrant capital, is a city that blends rich history with contemporary energy. Known for its stunning architecture, world-class art, lively plazas, and delicious tapas culture, Madrid offers something for every traveler. The Golden Triangle of Art – the Prado, Reina Sofía, and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums – houses masterpieces by artists like Goya, Velázquez, and Picasso, including the iconic Guernica. El Retiro Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a tranquil escape with its elegant gardens and crystal palace. Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol are iconic hubs of Spanish life, with vibrant markets, cafes, and street performances. Royal Palace, one of Europe’s grandest, showcases ornate rooms and centuries-old tapestries, while Gran Vía is Madrid’s bustling avenue, lined with shops, theaters, and restaurants. The city’s neighborhoods each bring their own flavor – from the bohemian charm of Malasaña to the upscale boutiques of Salamanca and the multicultural buzz of Lavapiés. Madrid's cuisine is another highlight: enjoy traditional dishes like cocido madrileño, or sample tapas in La Latina neighborhood. With a welcoming spirit, rich culture, and endless sights, Madrid leaves an unforgettable impression. Don't forget to pay a visit to the oldest restaurant in the World...Casa Botin. It was definitely my highlight!

The hotel was really nice. We booked there because we had an early flight. The location was perfect, because it was a 20 min walk to the airport. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. It's probably the best bed I slept in in Madrid. It's a bit outside of the city center, but the area has some nice restaurants and a cozy plaza. It was a nice, quiet neighborhood. There is a metrostation near by. I would recommend this hotel!

ARTIEM Madrid was perfect for our weekend break. the hotel was modern, clean and it catered to all our needs. The hotel is situated half way between the airport and the city centre, but easily accessible by bus and metro. It was incredible value for money.
