What a beautiful spot. Friendly locals and good food.
What a beautiful spot. Friendly locals and good food. Lots of history and wonderful signage about the Spanish Civil War, Retirada and Franco repression. Amazing old architecture and stunning views. Lots of well blazed hiking trails. I don’t think anyone could be disappointed in a visit to Macanet de Cabreyns. The views alone are worth it. Be sure to stop in and check out the 125 yr old Macanetenc Mutual Aid building in the town square and have a drink in this gorgeous old hall. I hope to get back someday!

If you want relax & nature, this hotel has everything you need.
Room was pretty clean with big windows pointing to the woods & river views...
In other hand, If you expect to have a 55 inch tv on your room (forget it) it has a tiny one , just check the views from the room window and enjoy.
We had dinner on the same hotel and the food was good.
Finally there're a lot of interesting places to visit by bike or hiking near the hotel , just grab a pair of good shoes before you go.

Centre of town plus parking so perfect location. Great view from the balcony on the top floor, don’t panic - there’s a lift. Simply furnished but very comfortable apartment with a very nice bathroom. Harry was really friendly and very helpful. We loved Macanet de Cabrenys, some lovely restaurants and good walks in the surrounding area. The local bar in the town square is very fine indeed.
This is a family run business. They started out as a restaurant, and expanded into a hotel. They really understand hospitality. I stayed in eight hotels over two week, this one was easily the best. The room was perfect, with a rooftop terrace where you can enjoy the views of the mountains. The breakfast and dinners get top marks. Ample parking under a shelter.
Staff were excellent. Really good service. Hotel was nicely renovated and centrally located in a lovely old town. We ate dinner in the restaurant and food and service were great. Breakfast was also excellent. All in all a very good hotel where you felt they were going out of their way to help.
The hotel is within the medieval area of the town and larger cars may find it a challenge to get to the car park due to the old narrow roads. Family run hotel and this was our 5th visit. Great food atmosphere and this year a new swimming pool
