A very nice apartment which is the ground floor of a house in an old village which is NOT a resort. The apartment is self contained, well equipped and even has its own garage. Comfortable beds and good shower and bathroom. The washing machine was very useful. Can’t speak for the kitchen equipment for meal prep because we ate out but I don’t recall lacking anything. Good sized rooms and no noise from adjoining properties. If you have a large car you may have to park about 100m away because getting our Fiat 500 into the garage was bit of a challenge. Good Wi-Fi and a TV.
The village itself does not have any restaurants but the adjoins village of Tajao has several very good fish restaurants and is about a 500m walk away. You’ll need a torch!
Comms is with a lady via WhatsApp who will give you the entry code and was very polite. Gifted oranges and bananas were appreciated.
We would happily stay there again

Breakfast was decent and varied. However, being confronted by another guest about sitting at the table whilst sitting and eating not acceptable.
The view from the eating area and from most of the hotel is spectacular and from the allocated room as requested. The problem was that the hotel was having ongoing construction work and as I had not been notified/given the opportunity to re-locate before arriving was a big no no for me.
Additionally on arrival no notification. The next morning work began at 08.30 and continued until 14.30. A note explaining there was work that day was pushed under the door at 11.30 with information stating work would be finished at 13.39 that day. As stated prior it wasn't. Imagine my surprise the next day when work, banging and pneumatic drilling began at 09.30 and continued until 16.30; without any note, apology or explanation. This again began the next day Friday morning and by 10.30 I went downstairs to complain. The receptionist said she would let the management know and indicated I take a seat. After being kept waiting a member of staff from house keeping came and took me to different rooms in the hotel to see if I could avoid the noise. It wasn't possible to avoid the noise but it was less on the top floor so I accepted a change of location. This helped to a degree but after being told that there would be no work on Saturday or Sunday I was disappointed that it happened briefly on both occasions. By Monday I wanted to fly home my husband convinced me to stay and the work continued on Tuesday as well. On Wednesday I woke early and left the hotel by 08.30 as I didn't want to hear any work/ banging again. Had I been informed of the work disturbance prior to arriving in Tenerife I would have cancelled the hotel Medano and found alternative accommodation. I am a quiet person who likes peace and quiet, I go on holiday to relax in my chosen environment.

Stan picked us up from the local restaurant on arrival and took us around the town to get our bearings, as a host we could not fault him, he was so helpful in every way. The room was beautiful and he brought us a cold beer when we got there. Coffee and pastries were provided for our first breakfast which was a lovely surprise. He was very accommodating, showing us the best restaurants and took us into the larger town to shop. Cannot wait to return. 😍

La Mareta - a tiny village at the seaside with a small beach, shop and a couple of bars. It's totally ok if you come here by car, but if you use public buses - be ready to walk to the main road about 20 minutes up.

The town is small, quiet and peaceful - not many tourists around. There's basically two small shops, two or three restaurants, and a bar, but for us, it was more than enough. There's a small beach too, where it's possible to swim. There aren't any real sights or activities, but ve were happy too trade it for the tranquillity. We havent seen any public transport oprions around, so you'd possibly need a car for staying here. The south airport is really close, the north one is approx. 45 mins away on the motorway.
