We stayed here for one night on a motorcycle tour. Staff friendly, great bar and restaurant. The room was good for the price we were charged.

The Hostal Almanzor is a small hotel run by a lovely friendly couple with an amazing knowledge of the natural environment, especially the birdlife. Anyone who enjoys bird watching or who would like a very reasonably priced hotel with easy car access to the Gredos Mountains for hill walking and to experience the magnificent scenery, should consider staying here.
The breakfast was continental and home made and the owners very helpful in finding a local restaurant for us to eat, as their evening restaurant opens only during peak season in July and August.

Great view of the Sierra de Gredos and starting place to drive to the Plataforma de Gredos. This is an easy way to experience high mountain landscape without having to climb yourself. If you wander off the beaten track (avoid Laguna Grande), you will likely see large herds of ibexes.
La Galana is a Slow Food restaurant with great food.

Hoyos de Espino is a very quaint typical Spanish village immersed in the middle of the mountains. It is peaceful and has incredible views. You can do several local hikes or you can adventure to the plataforma and do a proper mountain hike. For hikers, this is definitely worth the trip. There are a few local bars where you can grab a beer and some tapas, but you can also do proper dining a the El Molino Real where they serve superb food and they have an amazingly extensive wine list.

The service at the hotel was exceptional, complemented by a warm and welcoming reception. This strategic location provides easy access to numerous scenic trails, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of the area.
Well, I truly came not expecting much from this place, considering so many not so good reviews. Basically what I could notice is that it's a simple quite old stay, and if you don't expect much, it will be fine. The shower worked good, and the check-in was also ok. You'll probably come by car to explore the region, but Hoyos del Espino is even walking distance. Nothing spectacular, but a good stay in general.
Great place to stay. I have been here a number of times an d enjoy the location and the atmosphere. The hotel is simple but good. Basic breakfast but it has all that is needed to go for a good hike.
