I like that it had a room still available at that time of night...about an hour before we arrived. Very much a spontaneous and necessary booking as part of a free-ranging road-trip.
Room was clean and the check-in process was fairly simple, although we arrived during a Euros football match and the bar was very busy and the multi-tasking receptionist was bit distracted by other customers. Once our luggage was in the room we went back down and were welcomed to join in!
Because we arrived so late it was dark and we couldn't get a sense of location, but a quick walk in the morning revealed that we were fairly central, with free parking at the rear of the hotel.
I don't recall having a hotel breakfast, but that's not to say there wasn't one available. We chose to eat whilst out on our walk.

Galera is a small rural village.
Galera is a small rural village. On the positive side it is picturesque especially the cave houses and church, all white-painted. It is fascinating to see an unspoilt and untouristy village with these cave houses. The Bodega Domingo y Quiles has moved to more modern accommodation but if you speak Spanish is really worth a visit both for education and to taste the wines (which we liked a lot - though atypically dry partly because they are made for local tastes and partly because of the effect of the extreme temperature contrasts in the region on the grape ripening). On the negative side, there's not a lot to do in the village and no highly-rated restaurants to my knowledge. But there are interesting sites nearby to drive to. We visited in a heatwave so ended up not exploring much - do watch out for hot summers and cold winters here.

A friendly place to visit, with good local bars, cafes, restaurants. It is a small town in the countryside. A good place to stroll around in the daytime or evening. It is in an area where cave houses are prevalent and this makes walking around all the more interesting, not being used to seeing them in such numbers.
Breakfast was good. Food in the restaurant was also good. We are vegetarians and the staff kindly prepared food without meat as a lot of spanish food is fairly meat orientated. Staff were lovely and helpful, if a bit rushed on occasion due to the busy restaurant. The staff seemed to do everything in both the hotel and restaurant, multi tasking!!
Bed was very comfortable. Plenty of hot water for showers/baths. Clean. Nice balcony with table and chairs.
Good location near centre of Galera. We had a huge very comfortable bed too. The bar terrace is very good with great views and great service. The restaurant is also very good. A very good and very Spanish hotel in a beautiful town full of character.
The Hotel was lovely with the spectacular views of the village caves.Staff were very friendly and helpful.Pedro was very good with helping us.Would definitely stay there again
