Interesting history of house and its family explained by excellent host . Good parking . Just an overnight stay so didn’t get chance to explore Bilbao but had good train links to centre.

We loved our stay! The room was so big and had everything we needed and more. It was super comfortable! The coffee machine and kitchenette was very nice and had everything we needed. The shower was great and everything was very clean. The owner was lovely and extremely helpful with giving us local tips. Would definitely recommend!

Location was perfect. Kevin the trainee on the front desk was excellent, friendly and professional. Maria on the other hand was extremely rude and unhelpful. Kevin should give her some training.

A beautiful 15th Century home ,exceptional décor silver service cutlery ,china ware beautiful cosy ambience .Rooms spacious with modern shower room. Our ferry was delayed by 24 hrs and they were able to accommodate us. We had superb home cooked breakfast each morning with very attentive staff. We had a lovely dinner each evening our stopover turned in to a lovely tranquil stay. I would recommend this hotel for a cosy get away and a lovely area to recharge your batteries. Thank you
It was a beautiful hotel run by very welcoming staff. Everyone was very helpful and kind. we stayed only one night as we were returning by Ferry the next day and had little time. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to experience a traditional sense of Basque living and the food was absolutely fantastic made from seasonal and local produce. A wonderful place to stay if exploring the area.
Fernando is a perfect host. Location near train to city. Parking secure but costs 8 euro extra inside gates of property. Train to Gernika also. GPS works for Galdakao. Enter street address without number. WiFi excellent. Host only speaks Spanish. Thank God for Google translate. Large yard with petting zoo. You better like dogs, cats, roosters, and a rabbit. Get the drift?
Lovely staff, great location, clean and very very comfortable. I was travelling by motorcycle and the hotel had excellent free private parking. The lady could not have been more helpful.. allowed me to store my bike gear for the day and helped me to plan my train journey into Bilbao from the station just across the road. Would highly recommend and would stay again.
We spent one night here using the hotel as a base to explore Bilbao. We were able to park our hire car and then it was an easy walk to the station to catch a Metro to the city. Trains run every 15 minutes and were cheap. We had dinner in the hotel which was very good and then had a very comfortable nights sleep. This is a lovely family run hotel.
Very nice, sociable and lovely host :) it's like living with a family, much more personable than a regular hotel :) it's a very animal friendly home with cute dogs, chicken, cats and a parrot :)
Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a more authentic experience and wanting to talk to people.

It was wonderful to be served a yummy breakfast. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Beautiful old chalet, family run hotel. Train station just across road so getting into Bilbao was an easy option. Walk to local shop and restaurants within 10 mins. Bedroom got a bit hot during the night but air conditioning being installed.
In a suburb of Bilbao but good for us as we had car and big bike rack. But there is a lovely train stop 2 mins walk from hotel, we were able to take bikes on train in to Bilbao city, took about 20 mins. Also Alicia was so helpful with everything, she speaks 5 languages!!
The location is fine but a bit difficult to find.
As we were rushing for the Ferry we had to rush breakfast.
This is a quirky little hotel that is very good in a country house style.
The hotel is absolutely clean, Shoshin is a complete oasis, despite its proximity to the train station, but that did not bother me
