Casita Paraiso, hotel in Fuencaliente de la Palma

Casita Paraiso is set in Los Quemados and offers a garden and barbecue facilities. Featuring mountain and garden views, this holiday home also comes with free WiFi.

Comfortable, carefully decorated house which felt like if it was located at our own end of the World. We had the sensation that there was nobody else around: just us, the surrounding nature and the unique panoramic view of the ocean. The biggest highlight was the large, beautifully maintained garden full of fresh fruits waiting to be picked. There are several different places on the whole property to sit and enjoy your meals: either those made in a well-equiped kitchen (although with no dishwasher) or using the built-in garden grill. Casita Paraiso is located beneath another house belonging to the owners. The other house was empty for the whole length of our stay. And even if it wasn't, it would not have spoiled the intimacy as the whole area is located on a steep hill. Keep in mind that the narrow, steep road leading to Casita Paraiso can be a bit challenging if you're not used to driving in a hilly terrain - but this is true for the whole island of La Palma. :) The owners are extremely kind and discrete. Even if they don't speak English, we've all been able to communicate with a smile. Our stay was a really relaxing, fantastic experience. Totally recommended!

Visiting the surrounding area is one of the best places to see the la Palma for scenery and the volcanoes. I found it's best to have a plan of things you wont to do and your visit. If you plan to visit Cumbrecita national park you will need to book on line limited no of car parking places .

    Fuencaliente is wild fascinating region.

Fuencaliente is wild fascinating region. Ideal for active holidays. Someone who wants to enjoy all beauties, have to hire car. I suggest to procure some brochures about possible activities before you you come to Fuencaliente (La Palma). I suggest sturdier walking boots if you intend to hike.

Quiet place at the Southest tip of the La Palma Island.

Quiet place at the Southest tip of the La Palma Island. Definitely worth visiting. Great diving school and spot next to the Faro, amazing vulcanos. And if you plan your trip you can take a one-way to El Pilar and take Ruta Los Vulcanos and end up at Los Canarios accommodation ...

A very attractive small town, it's evident from the buildings, the gardens, the shops and bars that the people take pride in it. It sits towards the end of the Ruta de los Volcanes, which (for the traveller, at any rate) gives an atmosphere both of rest and of movement, a kind of easygoing vitality. The surrounding landscape is fantastic, and Fuencialente is right at the point where pine-forested mountains transition to dark sands and lava fields studded with succulents and cacti, making it a brilliant place from which to explore. The volcanoes of San Antonio and Teneguia are close at hand, and there's a good museum about the volcanic origins of the Canaries at the former. The lighthouse and its salt-pans are well worth visiting too.

Don't miss bar Parada in Los Canarios.

Don't miss bar Parada in Los Canarios. Very nice atmosphere of locals and hiking tourists. We did the volcano route, and ended the hiking with a beer at Parada. Ah! The volcano route is quite stenous, but worth while. We went there with Isla Bonita tours, they have excellent guides and walking tours. On the same street there as bar Parada is also a good coffee shop and bakery. Next time we will stay in Los Canarios, unless we rent a car, then we would love to return to Los Quemados, and the flat mentioned. The museum Volcano San Antonio is nice, and tells about the history of the volcano area – and that is what Fuencaliente is. A volcanic landscape. Dry and black and rocky. But there are also green pine treas growing above Los Canarios. And next time we we will do more hiking there. If you walk from San Antonio and down to the lighthouse, a nice hike. The restaurant at Faro Fuencaliente is excellent. We hade delicious grilled fish. You can take the bus back to Los Canarios. There is also suppose to be a beach down from Los Quemados, which we did not try out, because lack of time. Everything needs more time and planning in La Palma because of the mountains, and the hilly landscape, if you are going to hike. But we will come back!
