I've been traveling the Camino Frances for 20 days.
I've stayed in some lovely places.
Dona Mayor is my absolute favorite!
A restful , relaxing spot...home away from home.
Thank you 😊

Room very attractive, except for access, towel rail stuck to bathroom wall and roller shutter that fell apart.
Teething problems of a newly finished 2nd hotel building 200m away, so can be excused.

This was such a comfort to arrive to after walking thr camino. Rooms are lovely and clean, shower was hot and view out of our window was so peaceful!
The restaurant was lovely and food freshly cooked and tasy!
We had a noise issue with men in the next room that arrived later and were very disturbing so we told the owner and straight away she moved them...and then it was peaceful again so we were very grateful she did that!
Also they don't speak English but it's not a problem with Google translate!
Definitely recommend! 🙌

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and was made to feel very welcome. We had dinner at the hotel as well as breakfast and the food was delicious. All made on the premises and exceptional quality. We visited the church, its amazing. Will definitely be going back.

This property is located in the heart of town and offers delicious homemade food. We enjoyed the use of their lovely garden.
They made us feel incredibly welcome, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
A beautiful small town right on the Camino de Santiago.
A beautiful small town right on the Camino de Santiago. Full of character, lots of charming architecture, a delightful bakery with breakfast/coffee facilities and friendly staff. Also an hostel El Apostel in the plaza, with a kind owner who took us in late at night...highly recommended.
Simple, traditional Spanish country hotel, typically dark rooms and furnishings but clean and well presented with a nice large bathroom and a view out over the small square. Easy to park our motorcycle on the paved area alongside the hotel and little chance of it being interfered with. Being on The Camino quite a busy little town but generally quiet. Fromista is also a handy distance from the Santander ferry for onward travel when the ferry gets in mid/late afternoon.
As a pilgrim on the camino, this was the nicest place we have stayed so far! Large room, comfy bedding, great shower, minibar, friendly, helpful check-in and delicious breakfast! I enjoyed the large windows and it felt like a luxury hotel compared to others where we have stayed. So happy to have stayed here on Mother’s Day during my pilgrimage.
Julia, her daughter and son were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed Julia's "family" decor inside and out of her hotel, it made us feel at home after we have been away from our home for 3 weeks. Thanks for the candy, the coffee envelopes in the room. Next time you may want to provide caffeinated coffee too 😉
Charming hotel, lovely staff
I thoroughly enjoyed my one night stay at Dona Mayor. It's a gem of a place right on the Camino. I treated myself to a reflexology massage with Lydia which was fantastic. Beds were comfy, breakfast good, all in all very happy with my stay.
The signage to get to this hotel was very helpful from the Camino. The hotel and rooms are dated in decor but were clean. Staff were helpful and the bar and restaurant were both great places. The location is across from the church and was lit up at night.
Ideally situated just off the trail, this was a well maintained hotel, with a superb en-suite room and comfortable bed. The host didn't speak much English, but was friendly and helpful, and advised me where was best to eat.
The hotel was right in the middle of town just across from the main cathedral and just steps away from the Camino. The room was very pleasant - and they had the nicest towels I've yet used in Spain!
The owner was wonderful. She welcome you with a drink, checked us in, then showed us to our room. The room was great, so clean and tidy. Our stay here was the best Fromista has to offer.
We were fortunate to be put up in the brand new sister hotel just opposite the Hotel Rural San Pedro. Everything was brand new, clean, modern and in the center to bars and restaurants.
everything about this hotel was perfect-staff wonderful, facilities so clean, modern snd comfortable, food amazing, they washed clothes, small pool & beautiful outdoor area
