Simply stunning. Very friendly hosts, such a peaceful and quiet location.
I sat in the courtyard this morning eating my breakfast to the sound of complete silence... literally nothing, no sound at all... sensational. Great way to start your day.
As an Englishman, I wanted to stay away from the typical tourist areas and experience authentic, genuine true Spanish hospitality. If you are in the area, a must stop over. Recommended +++
Set in a former convent, dating from the 18th century, the Parador de Mérida provides attractive accommodation. It is within 10 minutes' walk of Mérida's main attractions.

A nice welcome from the Lovely friendly helpful people who work there. Communication before we arrived was perfect. The room was usual Parador old fashioned standard. Clean and beds very comfortable for us. We had a little balcony too which was a bonus. Seating area round the bar is lovely and traditional. Didn’t eat there as wanted to explore Mérida and eat tapas on the way. Parking an advantage but expensive at 22 euros per night. Haven’t paid for parking at other Paradores? Many thanks for a pleasant stay.

Friendly and helpful staff and a comfortable, well appointed hotel.
See review already answered. A good place for a short stay if you want to visit Merida but do not want the hassle of staying in the town itself. So history and (Roman) architecture are only a few kilometres away.

We had an excellent two night stay at Don Alvaro.
We had an excellent two night stay at Don Alvaro. Lovely property and room with fantastic hosts. We ate both nights there and the food was very good, excellent breakfast. It is a good place to stay to visit Merida nearby.
A fabulous welcome from Pepe as we parked outside of the hotel. We were served drinks in the sunlit courtyard. We asked for dinner and were very glad we did. It was terrific home cooking but with lots of attention and love put into the cooking.
The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable.
Breakfast was very well presented.
A real gem!
Thank you!
