Chinchon is a wonderful city just south west of Madrid, there is a bus link to the city or you can drive in which takes approx 30 mins, the bull ring with bars and restaurants is a must see, sit outside with a beer and tapa and people watch to your hearts content, the buildings are so nice dating back to the 15th century, take a walk around this wonderful place, you won't be disappointed

The Parador was a converted convent with lovely gardens and pool. Our room was spacious and comfortable - great beds and shower. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We were staying one night only as we were travelling from Bilbao to the south of Spain.

Chinchón is a little and rather relaxed town - at least during the week. On weekends, many people from Madrid come here to enjoy some days out of the city. However, you'll find an authentic Spanish medieval city center and plaza here.
Moreover, Chinchón was a great starting point for our day trips with our rental car (Toledo, Alcalá de Henares, El Escorial, Aranjuez) before we went to the city center of Madrid.

We used this as a stopover on our way south from Santander. A lovely village that was full of character and at night the Plaza Mayor looks wonderful, all lit up and busy.
We wanted to see the Goya painting in the church but was told it wasn't open until 19:00 and as we left mid morning it wasn't a big deal.
I'd find it difficult to find things to do for a couple of days there but for a 1 day stopover it was just what we wanted - quiet, full of character and with history.

Chinchón is like stepping back in time.
Chinchón is like stepping back in time. This is just the place to come to get away from the hustle and bustle.
You can really imagine a completely different way of life as you walk the cobblestone streets.
This is traditional Spain.

Lovely place to amble around.
Lovely place to amble around. Plenty of restaurants right outside hotel. Beautiful parador across the road, nice for a drink but food disappointing.
The piazza was all set up for the fiesta & bull run later in month. Bought some 'fine garlic' from lovely old man stringing it up in shed on piazza. Must have been there for years.
This has to be one of the most beautiful Casa's we've ever stayed in. Our room was a good size, spotlessly clean with a lovely ensuite. Parking is easy with a free car park directly opposite the front door. Its a short walk down to the Chinchon Plaza where everything happens so location is spot on too. Our only issue is that we only stayed for one night (as we had to move on to get the ferry)..so we will be back next year and will stay more nights to enjoy this Hotel and Chinchon
It’s a great location once you find the parador in the narrow streets of Chinchón but the the end we did notice that there was small signs pointing the direction of the parador. This is our second time staying here and we love this little quaint little town. The room was very up scale it feels like we were in a 5 star hotel and the staff are very well groomed and polite. They have a very safe underground parking just around the hotel.
The location was superb on the plaza mayor. Very easy to communicate with the staff member to meet us to give keys. Only 4 rooms in hotel, as we had two upper ones, it felt like an apartment. Spacious and comfy rooms. We didn't realise opening of bull fighting season so our balcony had the best view (but we did not want to watch!). Lovely bars and restaurants all around.
We messaged the property about 15-20 minutes before arrival, and Lydia was there promptly to meet us. She explained everything, despite language challenges, helped us park. Very helpful.
Lovely place, just meters away from the central plaza (Plaza Mayor). Many restaurants and bars there. It was a cold evening; we could get one of the 3 heaters to work, which was enough.
The hostess was so friendly and incredibly kind! When she saw that I had just turned 50 the day before, she came back with a special bottle of local wine for us to enjoy. She was so kind! The apartment is fantastic, large, great balcony to sit and sip chinchon, and well appointed kitchen.
if you are not able to communicate in spanish, I think it would be difficult. getting on the bus, walking to the Plaza Mayor, meeting for keys, needed to speak spanish. However, a wonderful small town, friendly people. the village centre, the museum, Plaza Mayor, a wonderful experience.
Very tranquil boutique hotel. Some lovely touches to make it authentic with the area. Loved the spa room to ourselves. Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast options were very good. The multitude of restuarants in the town.
Location was perfect for visiting the Plaza Mayor. Free Parking was available overnight at the Plaza, just steps from Casa Marquesa. Restaurants, pubs, were also steps away from this casa rural.
Beautifully styled and presented house with great attention to detail. Very helpful and kind owner who made us most welcome. Chinchon itself is stunningly beautiful.
